When exactly did you get the error message 98.01.01? Was it while you was trying to do a firmware update? I found a
forum support page regarding this error but so far it remains unresolved on many websites. I checked all of the LaserJet's error codes and, like in the forum link, it appears this is related to a bad firmware update or faulty connection during a firmware. I have heard of people just repeatedly trying the firmware update until it goes through. In fact, there is a firmware update for this printer.
To get to the firmware update, go to
www.hp.com/supportand type in your product name under Software and Download and press enter. Next, you will have to select which printer you have (m551n, m551dn, or m551xh). Once you select that, it will take you to a Business Support Page and the firmware updates are located on the left hand side under Setup, Install, and Configure and then in the middle of the page you will see "Firmware Download and Install." I will need to know a bit more information before I can help you with any of those steps, however.
First of all, how is the printer connected to the computer? What is the Operating System and System Type of the computer (Windows 7 64 bit, Windows XP, Mac Version X.X, etc)? Are you able to print or do anything else with this printer? Answer those questions if you need any more help.
