Whirlpool AWM029 Front Load Washer Questions & Answers
When my washer is spinning
Whirlpool has been having problems with their tub bearings. Not an easy fix at all. But to me it sounds like you
may have a broken shock. Pull the bottom panel off (three screws on the bottom) and you'll see the shocks.
It will be obvious to the eye. If that is the problem you can replace just that one, but I would go ahead and
replace all four...hope this helps.
The washing machine is indicating to Clean Pump.
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Here are my complete guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!
Good luck!

I can't get the filter back in. It won't turn into
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France, Sun afternoon 14:41
I suspect that there must be something, possibly limescale, around the thread not allowing you to turn it OR the filter is not far enough into its recess. The filter might be restricted in movement by something further inside the pipe stuck between the filter and the drain pump motor.
I would advise looking closely into where the filter goes- with some decent lighting- to check ;-0)
Good luck,

Need to clean filter
Take the panel out from under the door by removing the 3 screws on the bottom lip, once the panel is out you will see the pump built into the pump you will see what looks like a gas cap on a car, unscrew this cap making sure you have towels ready to mop up any water. Pull the cap out and remove any debris then put it all back together and you will be all set.
If you have any further questions feel free to ask.
Where are the filters located?
Hi,
Unplug the washing machine and turn off the water.
Open the small trap door next to the drain hose connection on the back of the washer to gain access to the filter.
Good luck.
