Suggest two routes to take. First, uninstall the printer via Start - Control Panel - Printers. Just right click on its icon and select Delete. Restart computer, with printer ON the computer should find the printer. See if by following install procedure it will resolve your problem. If not, go to the Epson website and download the full driver and other utilities package for your printer and after downloading, run the full install programme. Another option is to get the excellent free utility to check all drivers on your computer by IOBIT. Did you try to switch of and on the printer?Could be something is obstructing the print head if the lights come on again.Switch of the printer and check is anything (paper or something else like paperclip or...) is blocking the printer head. Remove the obstruction and switch the printer back on.Epson has great support online that is more than just a manual or a new driver. Visit Epson just Google epson and the product name. skip the selling sites and go straight to Epson.

What model of printer do you have

Unfortunately, even switching to b&W, the printer wll NOT print until you replace the empty ink- a devious plot by Epson to make you buy ink. Only other way would cost more than that new ink you say it needs

You can get all the drivers you need by downloading them from the Epson website, but I don't think you can get a cd....however, by downloading them direct from their official website (free) you are sure to get the LATEST ones, whereas a CD could well have out of date drivers...so you're better off downloading them anyway.

used a clean damp cloth on its surface, no need to clean the inside because you might distort the wires inside.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages,then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.
