No, Emerson tv's require the original remote to solve the problem, you can try contacting a tv repair shop to see if by chance they have one for your model and may part with it for a small fee, or at least remove the FPA lock.

Sorry to tell you but without the actual remote you cant switch this television. Lucky this model is covered in many universal remote controls. Controls go for as little as three dollars on ebay.com. But you should be able to also find them in any local department store.
How to connect a DVD
on the front and on the back of the TV it has a set of tulip jacks a yellow one for
video and either a white or red one for audio. Take a set of RCA cables and hook them
from the DVD to the TV via the colors yellow for video red/white for sound. For this TV
I believe you will need to go throught the channels until you find composite/AUX1 or composite/AUX2 which the DVD will be assigned to. If the DVD player is on and functioning you should get a picture. If you dont get a picture and you get fuzz and buzzing on these channels you have the video and sound reversed. Some models may have a source button on the front of the TV or on the remote. If this is the case use the source button to get to the Composite/AUX channel.

I bought my TV 11/1/2010 as a Christmas Present.
You can unplug the unit, let it sit for 10 minutes and that will reset it, replace the batteries in the remote as well, plug the unit back up, and then see if you are able to use its functions, If that does not work, then you can try getting a universal remote.
I have an Emerson EWF2004
Hello -
You've accidentally entered the service mode. You can exit service mode by switching the TV OFF using the main power button on the front of the TV. When you switch the TV on again using the main power button, the numbers should be gone and you will be able to resume watching TV normally. If the numbers are gone, but you are unable to see the Dish Network channels, you will also need to change the INPUT on the TV.
If the numbers are still there when you power on again, there may be a fault with the TV. Please try the above first, then let me know if you need further assistance.

I am only getting black
The tuner is going bad, try going into the video jack in back and if you still don't have color, then it is the color processor IC or cystal, that is bad.
TV Stuck on 1 channel
We would be happy to help get that fixed right away. The first thing we want to ensure is that all connected equipment is on. We want to then check what type of cable was used to connect the TV to the receiver. If you are using a Coax Cable to connect the receiver to TV1, check the receiver's back panel for the output name. If your receiver has a "TV CH 3/4 out": Tune TV to channel 3 or channel 4, back if it is labeled "Home Distribution": Tune TV to channel 62 or 75. If using non-Coax (RCA, Component, or HDMI) to connect receiver to TV1, cycle through the inputs until picture appears; Most TVs have a "TV/Video", "Input", or "Source" button. If we are still not getting a picture then unplug receiver for 10 seconds then plug it back in, this will reset the receiver, then try cycling the inputs again.
We hope these steps resolve the issue. We want to thank you for being a valued DISH Network customer!Phillip ChangDISH Network Customer Service Representative
