Shock or stablizer drum

Power of the wall socket first. Unscrew the shock or 'damper' completely as it is known, noting position, head tail. Test it, it should not be pumping very loose, if so you should replace it. Otherwise just put it back in and tighten the bolts well.

Water refills after a complete cyle.

Had similar problem and ended up being the valve. Try shutting the water off to the wahser during the spin cycle. If the water doesn't refill, that is the issue.

Water fills machine but won't shutoff

ekrok, you are going to have to change the fill valve. If water is still filling when the unit is unplugged, that means the valve is stuck open. This is not a hard fix. You will have to remove the screws on the top in back. Should be three. If this is a GE you will have to remove the front header. Three screws in back of the front header. Now the top will slide off toward the back The valve is easy to get at. Get your part at a local appiance parts store or order it from repairclinic.com. Change it out and this will be a done deal, Catriver

Rear bearing noise when in spin cycle Whirlpool GHW9100LW2

the reason some repair guys dont fix this problem is that it is so expansive to fix the bearing is molded into the tub so you have to buy a new tub assembly and when whirlpool bought out maytag they raised all the prices on everything it would be almost 300 for the tub assembly than it takes about 1 to 2 hours than if you need a new shaft assembly that is more than the tub so thats why they dont fix them

Banging while spinning and disintegrating gasket

Most likely not the drum bearing on this one.

I believe that your inner basket support has failed. It's a common problem on 4+ year old duet washers. This is by far the most labor intensive repair that can be done on the duet washer. You will need to tear down the machine for this repair. Expect it to be a four to eight hour job depending on your level of skill.

The basket is under lifetime warranty. The new basket will come w/the basket support already attached to it. Stupid as it sounds, You can't buy the bolt-on basket support alone, You need the entire basket! wtf?

The front section of the outer tub is supposed to have a 10yr warranty. Being that the tub was damaged by the basket, They may or may not warranty the parts.

Do a search on fixya. There is a guy from MA that has a complete set of pictures and info on the rotted/broken basket support.

I have a whirlpool duet washer with a code H problem what is that

Lean the machine back and remove the screws to open the lower panel (kickplate). You should find a tech manual inside which will explain all the error codes.

Not spinning properly

You will need to replace the inner basket and front outer tub assembly. Likely, the spider on the inner basket (drum bracket) has broken which is causing it to be loose and rubbing on the inside of the outer tub. This can be verified by checking for excessive play of the inner basket (hold the front of the inner basket and check for play by moving it up and down).
It's not a cheap repair unfortunately. Be sure to always use a small amount (2 tablespoons for a full load) of HE (high efficiency) detergent to prevent future build up which could cause corrosion of the tub spider.

Washer does not fill

many new machines use what we would only describe as hardly any water, does it do the job properly, if so then fine leave it as is,

this is calculated by computer so that the lowest level of water is used to do the job, hence the lowest amount of electric is used to warm it up, (a bit like filling the kettle to the top for one cup of coffee, its a waste)

its not what we see that matters, its what it does, after all we don't generally sit and watch it do we?
