I keep getting a 17755 error code on vag com

Have you cleaned the water filter out and checked the waste hose first? Make sure you only use a quality detergent as cheap pound shop stuff can rot the sensors, and foul up the camshaft.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care HD Plus Model #LSR8233EQ0 won't agitate or spin

It sounds like the coupling between the motor and gearbox has worn out. It should cost around $15 plus shipping and handling.

During the normal cycle the timer control knob

If timer doesn't move through entire cycle, timer is bad. Only exception to that is if lid switch is bad.

I load washer it starts the wash cycle it goes through wash cycle fine drains water but does not collect water for rinse cycle it just idles. So I turn knob to spin and it spins until done.

If it doesn't fill for the rinse, I would say that the cold inlet valve has failed. Check that the cold tap is turned on and check when the machine fills for the wash cycle and see if it is taking hot or cold water. You will probably find that it is filling only with hot water. A local spares store should have the valve you need.

Wash started cycle. Wife stopped it at beginning of cycle. Now washer will not start at at. Lid switch is good. Will not spin, rinse, restart wash, nothing, not even clicking.

Does unit have a reset button? If it has manual control for cycle did you try going clockwise to the start position and then restarting? If she stopped the cycle by opening the door perhaps that switch is still stuck in an open position.

The water isn't shutting off.so it overflows out

Several things could be causing that. First, behind the control panel check to make sure that the plastic tubing that connects to the water level switch is still connected. The water level switch is the one you use to choose what size load you are washing. If it is connected, trace that clear tubing to the other end to see if it is damaged or if it is disconnected at the other end. An easy and fast way to check the tubing is to fill the washer about 1/4 full of water, disconnect the tubing from the switch in the control panel, the blow air through the tube. If you hear air bubbling from inside of the washer, then the tubing is most likely good and also connected at the bottom end. If the tubing is good, then the switch itself may be bad. To test the switch, use another piece of tubing and (ONCE THE POWER IS DISCONNECTED) blow air pressure into the back of the switch, if you dont hear the switch click when pressure is applied, the switch is probably bad. If it does click, then test the switch with a continuity tester or ohm meter while applying pressure through the tubing. On a GOOD switch, there will be no continuity when enough pressure is applied.

Why does my older whirlpool washer fill, agitate, then stop?

The motor is possibly overheating due to dry bearings, causing the thermal overload to open (it re-closes when the motor cools down). SOLUTION: Get some oil onto the felt pads around the plain bearings each end of the motor-where the shaft comes out, you'll be able to dribble it in; at the covered end if you can't prise the cover off, make a hole in it with a philips screwdriver and a sharp 'tap' with a hammer. I like to use silicon oil but car engine oil would be ok.

Why does my machine not wash as good as it used to?

Water temp changed? Different detergent? Overloading enough to prevent proper agitation? All these can affect the performance. Also, if drainage is slow due to clog or weak pump, it might not rinse well, leaving soapy residue as well. Whirlpool pumps are pretty cheap and easy to change, usually, should that prove to be the source of your trouble. But look for simpler causes first.
