Why are vertical lines across the display screen of my handset? Have changed the batteries.

The handset display is bad. This part can not be replaced because it is molded to the chassis of the phone. Replace the complete chassis or the handset and that would solve your problem.

Unfortunately, there would be no way to prevent the specific phone from getting hot.
Also, cordless phones are not rated for heat. I would recommend a high-quality phone.

Cannot call out or answer a call

The only thing I can think of is you may be in the wrong dial mode. If you do not have touch tone service you will hear the tones but it will not connect. Try setting it to pulse and see if you can call out. Check you volume or see if the mute has been set. Have you tried a different phone? you might want to borrow a phone from a neighbor to see if it is a service problem or just your phone.

It first sounds as if the handset isn't charged properly. Check the battery status first. The manufacture advises to charge the system for approx. 7 hours before any use occurs. Then re-register by: 1 Handset: {MENU} i {0}{0}{1} 2 Base unit: KX-TG6021/KX-TG6022/ KX-TG6023 Press and hold {LOCATOR} until the IN USE indicator flashes. KX-TG6051/KX-TG6052/ KX-TG6053/KX-TG6054 Press and hold {LOCATOR/ INTERCOM} until the IN USE indicator flashes. LAfter the IN USE indicator starts flashing, the rest of the procedure must be completed within 1 minute. 3 Handset: Press {OK}, then wait until a beep sounds. 4 {OFF} Third, make sure that the display on the handset does not show "SP-Phone" in the display, if it does press the phone icon button. Fourth, Do you currently have voicemail from your phone service provider? If so, the answering machine will not answer. Make sure that the answering machine portion is turned on. Do this by: Press {ANSWER ON} to turn on/off the answering system. When the answering system is turned on, the ANSWER ON indicator lights. Why does my Panasonic KX-TGM420 go straight to voice mail?

Voicemail is a service of your telephone company. If your calls are going to voicemail, check the settings following the directions for the service. If the answering system is getting the calls, then check if the KX-TGM420 handset(s) and base are set to a ringer volume of 0. You can change this from either the base or a handset by pressing the + button while the phone is ringing. Otherwise, when the phone system is in standby (no calls in or out), press # 1 6 0 on a handset or * # 1 6 0 on the base. Then set the ringer volume on the handset (0-6) or base (0-10). This is the equivalent of pressing menu and navigating through the menu (Menu > Settings > Ringer Adjustment > Ringer Volume (Incoming)). You can also turn off the ringer by pressing and holding 0 on the handset and Ringer Off on the base. See pages 33 and 44 of the manual, link below. I hope this helps. The manual is available here: https://help.panasonic.ca/viewing/ALL/KX-TGM420/OI/TGM420_PNQX7794YA/TGM420_PNQX7794YA.pdf . Cindy Wells

Panasonic KX-T7433 CO Not Assigned Error

The "CO Not Assigned" error on your Panasonic KX-T7433 handset indicates that the Central Office (CO) line has not been properly assigned to the handset. Since you've mentioned that other handsets in your office can connect to CO-01 without any issues, the problem seems to be specific to certain handsets. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
  1. Restart the Handset: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Try unplugging the handset's power cord for a few seconds and then plugging it back in.
  2. Check CO Assignment: Double-check the CO assignment settings on the problematic handsets. Make sure that the CO-01 line is correctly assigned to those handsets. Follow these steps:
    • Press the "Program" button on the handset.
    • Dial 1 (CO Line Access).
    • Dial the line number you want to assign (in your case, 01).
    • Press the "Auto Dial/Store" button to save the assignment.
    • Hang up the handset.
  3. Reset the Handset: If reassignment doesn't work, you can try resetting the handset to its default settings. Keep in mind that this will erase any customized settings on the handset. To perform a reset:
    • Make sure the handset is not in use.
    • Press and hold the "Program" button while you reconnect the power cord.
    • Keep holding the "Program" button until the handset displays "Initializing..." and then release the button.
    • The handset will restart and return to its default settings. You'll need to reconfigure any personalized settings afterward.
  4. Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for the Panasonic KX-T7433 system. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause compatibility issues. Refer to the user manual or Panasonic's official website for instructions on updating the firmware.
  5. Contact Panasonic Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it might be best to contact Panasonic's customer support. They can provide specific guidance based on your model and system setup.
  6. Physical Check: Ensure that the physical connections and cables related to the CO-01 line are secure and functioning properly. A loose connection could lead to communication problems.
Keep in mind that these steps are general suggestions and may need to be adjusted based on the specific model of your phone system and any unique configurations in your office. If you're not comfortable performing these steps yourself, it's recommended to seek assistance from a professional technician or the manufacturer's support team.
