I do not know how to turn the ringer on

Changing ringing on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
Next press the left hand intercom twice
The display should say system programming

Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Centralized Programming.

Enter in the extension number that you want to program.

Press the line that you want to ring.
A solid light on the line means immediate ringing
A slow flashing light means delayed ringing (meaning the phone will wait 3 rings before starting to ring.)
A fast flashing light means no ringing.

When finished with that station press the right hand intercom and enter in the next extension to program and set ringing accordingly.

Press feature "00" to logout

# of rings

The place to set rings to answer is # 506 (VMS hunt delay)selecting either 1 for the day schule or 2 for the night schedule. You'll also want to check #507 (VMS hunt schedule) to make sure your line is in the correct schedule and not following the alternate schedule.

I need to change my extension.

You can swap extensions 10 and 11 back at the phone cabinet. Remove the front cover(if there is one), depending on the type of partner system you have stations 10 &11 will either be in the center card(ACS) or in the 1st card on the left(partner and partner plus). Both ports should be marked but if not they are the first 2 ports. un-plug 11 and 10 and plug the cord previously in 11 into port 10 and vice versa.

My new job has a Lucent phone and it does not ring

1.) Are you refering to outside lines ringing?

2.) What if someone dials you on intercom does it ring then?

If #1 the phone SYSTEM usually has an option that you have to program and add you to the ring pool for the outside lines.

If #2 does not ring it is also a function to disallow ring, but it very well could be the phone. Since the line is all that matters and NOT the phone, you could try another phone at your location and see if the same happens. If it does, you will need to program the SYSTEM from either Ext. 10 or 11 to add you to the ring pool and allow ring.

Lucent Partner 18D phone loses speed dial program

At the phone: No

This phone is attached to a Partner panel somewhere in your building most likely. At that panel there is either a slot card or a carrier box with several cards in it. One of them is the processor card, on that card at the front should be an area at the bottom w/ a "+" plus sign on it, move the black (usually that color) slide and there will be a carrier for 2 AA batteries (or AAA), replace those and the info should be saved. Alternatively some of these system have a PCMCIA memory card that you can use to back them up and then restore them if something goes wrong later. If you find the main phone on your system (usually 34 button) it may even tell you the batteries need replaced. When we install we also highly recommend hooking the main phone system to an APC backup, even something as small as a 500-600 series just to both protect your investment and in small outages eliminate the worry of this problem.

Hope this helps you.
