Lucent PARTNER18 Corded Phone - Page 4 Questions & Answers
How do I set my
Which ones? System speed is programmed from station 10 or 11 and goes in the 6xx's, depending on your version of software. The start is FEATURE 00 FEAT 6xx and dial the number You can continue programming more numbers by pressing FEAT 6xx or Feat 00 to exit.
Personal speed dial numbers are programmed similarly, except they are in locations 80-99 on each phone and can be programmed from the phone if it's a system phone.
Auto Dial buttons use blank buttons on your set. Feature 00 pressing the button and dialing the outside number store those. Again, Feature another button will let you program another button, or Feature 00 ends programming.

Display is blank
Is there a question here? If the display is blank, swap a known working phone into its place or move the blank display phone into another location. It's either a bad phone, or bad wiring.

Our phone system crashed not
Go look at the system cabinet. The processor (the card with all the jacks in the center) are numbered. If it's an R8 card, then they number 10-18 from left to right and top to bottom. (actually 10-14 and 15-18) 13 and 17 are right next to each other :-)
It's fairly easy, you ought to be able to start moving jacks and figure it out.

Can't find the user manual.
It's not that simple. What happens when you dial 777 and 99 4321? That's the default access, mailbox, and password for some Avaya voice mail systems. Your better bet is to look at the invoice, notes, cheat sheets, for the messaging system you have and start looking for a manual.
www.wedophones.com under Manuals Avaya might be a good place to start.

I need to block certain extensions from being able
Best way to do that is to sit down with the manual and look at programs 400-408. At a minimum, if you restrict 1 and 0 in a table and assign it to your extensons in 405, those phones can't dial long distance. That's fairly worthless in today's calling climate when some carriers let you dial just 10 digits or you have to dial 1 for any local call outside your area code. 404 lets you build 8 tables of 10 number sequences each for restriction and 407 lets you build 8 tables of 10 number sequences for allow. For example You could put 1 HOLD HOLD HOLD (hold is the wildcard) in one table and entry of 404 with traditional dialing and that would restrict all 1+ long distance. Then, in 407 5 of your entries in one table would be 1800, 1888, 1877, 1866 and 1855 to allow toll free calling. These tables get assigned to extensions in programs 405 and 408. A simple restriction (ie local calls only, internal calls only) get assigned in 401. There are some other tricks and, above all, remember that you have to keep 911 availabe for access and allowing 0 is never a good idea because 0 alone will get the operator and that defeats the purpose of toll restriction.
Other tricks involve custom CLASS codes. You need to account for the clever worker who dial *67. That gives them second dial tone and they can dial the world. It would be easy if you could block first digit *, but you ought to allow *57 for nuisance call trace. If you have the above where long distance is dialed with only 10 digits, then you can always start with HOLD HOLD HOLD in a table and allow 911 and the local area code in an allow table. The table digits can be up to 12 so you may have to go to 6 digit screening in allow tables for local exchanges. In my area, we have 10 digit dialing and 419352 419353 419354 (among others) along with 567213 are local calls. If I were programming a customer 6 miles to the North, there would be extensive programming in both area codes.
Outside of that, it's just a function of analyzing your local calls, area codes, how a call is dialed, and building your tables. We do this with billing by the hour :-)

Hello,
How do I adjust the time on my Lucent
Since you ask this question under a Partner 18D, the answer for a Partner system is you go to extension 10 or 11 and, without picking up the handset, press FEATURE 00 and the left intercom button twice. Then for time you dial #103 and the 4 digit military time. Date is #101 and MMDDYY.
FEATURE 00 exits programming.

We have Lucent phone systems
Well, let me think. You could just reprogram the button. They tend to have instructions and Lucent made a lot of different systems, but pretend it's a Partner system. There, you press Feature 00 the button and either the 2 digit extension or * plus 2 digits for voice calling.
Note that this is only for the Partner system and doesn't work on Legend, Magix, Merlin, Spirit, Definity, or IP Office systems.

Do you have a programming
You can do this in single digits if you change the selector code to 6. Look at page 6 of the following pdf.
http://www.wedophones.com/Manuals/AT&T/Partner%20Mail%20VS%20R5%20Planning%20Forms.pdf
Each selector code, except 9 is preceded with a 5, which is direct extension transfer. If you create a digit, say 7, selector code of 6 and put your extension range in the extensions, you should be able to dial 71x and do an immediate transfer to voice mail. This is sort of a guess as I don't have my Partner system set up on the bench.
If you strip the right portion of the url away, you can find a full VS r5 manual on the wedophones website.
