My frigidaire furnace will not heat it just hums

Lori without doing a full service check. I would recommend a dead power reset. First shut everything off on the unit then , Go to the breaker that supplys power to the unit shut it off 5-10 secs. then back on then try turning unit on. This may be a long shot but sometimes it will release a lockout fault if it strarts and then locks out again. Just wait foe service tech. Hope this helps.

Furnace stops before house warms up

There are several things that control the gas valve. A bad flame sensor could cause the valve to shut off upon initial ignition because it's not sensing the flame. The high limit sensor would shut the unit down only after the unit was runnung for a period of time. It senses the temperature of the heat exchanger. Now if it was bad it wouldn't allow the gas valve to open for ignition. the only other issue could be with the induced draft blower motor not running. It it seems to me that the flame sensor is the problem because of the short time your unit runs.

I have a gibson (Nordyne) model KG6RC 120C-20C gas furnace. The blower motor was making noise when starting, then burned out. After replacing the blower motor, the new motor won't start.

With a meter you can track down where the voltage stops. Typically you will have the speed wire landed on the "NO"/normally open terminal of the relay with the hot on the other one. when the relay energizes it closes the circuit sending voltage to the speed wire. First be sure you have high voltage to the relay. If voltage present you can carefully put the speed wire either directly to the hot or on the "NC" side. If any doubts on your ability dont do it, its dangerous. Keep us posted.

Have a Gibson gas furnace KG7TC 0800-35C Keep fan switched to run. Fan runs. Stat calls for heat clicks on, blower stops. Lower heat setting blower restarts.

Probably has an overheat problem that resets. This furnace may not allow for continuous fan operation. Check the manual or contact Gibson via the customer support area on their web site.

Gibson furnace blinking 4 times then pauses, flame won't stay on

The four flashes is failure of ignition. It could be the flame sensor dirty. The furnace tries to light four times before you get the four flashes. The board then locks out for one hour unless the power is removed and restored. You could try gently cleaning the flame sensor with fine steel wool. If you don't have fine wool you can use a crisp dollar bill. with the burner firing the yellow flame sense indicator should be pretty much locked on or flicker briefly. If it just occasionally flashes on then the flame sensor rod needs to be cleaned. hope this helps you.

Gibson Furnace 80% runs a full cycle, then takes too long to turn back on again. Customer says runs about once an hr

Sounds like a over heat is holding the heat off taking to long allow a call for heat. A limit holding off .

Have Gibson furnace runs cycle but seems don't get hot enough out of vents check all 115 degrees at vents use to lot hotter old furnace you couldn't stand on vents now you can easily

Is this a gas furnace ? Newer high eff. gas furnaces do have cooler outlet temperatures. The installer should have checked the temperature rise and gas pressure. By adjusting the gas pressure and blower speed you can obtain a higher outlet temp, but you don't want the gas pressure to be higher than the manufacture specs and you don't want the furnace to run outside of the manufactures temp rise specs.

My 2005 Gibson furnace overheats in a really cold night, stops and has to be restarted manually. A 1-square foot hole was cut out to feed more air but the problem persists. What is wrong?

There are over temp and roll out sensors on the unit. They may be weak, or you may have a problem with flame adjustment, etc. Where did you cut that hole? The air flow has to be balanced in the room where the furnace is, if you have the furnace drawing in air from the room and not through the cold air return you run the risk of CARBON MONOXIDE being drawn out of the flue into the air feed and this can poison anyone in the structure.

Frost on coils on condensers

i will assume you are talking about evaporator --a few reasons restricted air flow coils dirty -air filter clogging --fan not working or operating properly --low on freon ---turn fan on and with a spray bottle mix water and a little liquid soap and spray coils the fan will pull mixture thru coils keep spraying do not wipe the coils you can get injured and also damage coils an replace with new filter if still freezes over will need to check freon level and fan operation
