My built in Whirlpool oven
I unplugged the range from the wall and using my meter, did a continuity check of the latch position switch (the one on the right). The switch was reading as an open circuit in standby and when I actuated the switch which tells me the switch has failed. The second switch on the latch assembly, by the way, is to turn the oven light off during the self cleaning cycle to protect the bulb. That way, if you leave the light switch on the control panel turned to the on position, that second switch will turn it back off. Good to know if you can't figure out why the oven light won't turn on.
