Where do you live.? If it came from the USA, it is made for a 110 volt supply. If you live in the UK or Europe via an adapter, the voltage is 215 volts.

depends Henry is the USA Keurig Coffee Maker rated at 120 Volts AC and did you plug it in to say as an example 240 Volts AC ? Did a lot of smoke come out of unit if this is the guessed case ?

I believe it is not problem. Some models make that noise when they are heating the water.Ours does the same chugging noise but works well. We have a different model also and the second one does not make the noise but then it is a later model without the bells and whistles of the first unit mentioned.

I'm not sure how you are pumping, But I would check the pump unit, That's where I normally get those types of failures. I upgraded to a new external pump and never had the issues again. If you are directly connected to a water line, make sure the line is open. make sure the hoses on the back of the machine and on the pump unit are installed correctly. if you are in an area with hard water and you are not using filters or bottled water you may need to flush the machine.
