My notebook i spilt wetar in it and now i cant

remove the battery immediately, do not try to turn it on. if you can get yourself a sack of uncooked rice, put the notebook in it and leave it there for a couple of days. the uncooked rice absorbs all the moist from electronic gadgets.

I have a gateway MT3707 pc notebook. It randomly

This could be a sign that your laptop is overheating. If you touch the laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced.

If none of this solves the problem, or is not the case, then you might have a bad motherboard.

We have a Gateway laptop that is 4 or 5 years old.

Do you hear the OS booting up(Start up sounds and stuff). Did you try hooking it up to an external monitor? If not then please try it and see if it works with the external monitor. From what you have described it sounds like a LCD screen/backlight failure.

I downloaded windows 7 on

You may need to download the driver(s) and any possible apps for your laptop. This is based on the assumption that your laptop supports Windows 7. If this is the case, Gateway should have the available drivers for you web cam. Worse case scenario is that you'll have to search the internet for the driver(s) in case Gateway does not have them.

I cannot get my webcam to open on my new gateway

I had the same problem, so I deleted a bunch of applications like Messenger and Skype that also use the webcam but that didn't work. Finally, I deleted something called Windows 7 codecs and my webcam started working again. If you happen to have that program on your computer--delete it; otherwise, keep looking for the culprit. It took me about three days of messing around to nail it.

Please assist having problem with

1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
4. The power button could be bad.
5. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced.

I HAVE A DELL STUDIO LAPTOP AND MY cd IS STUCK

Ok they thought of this issue about 2 years after the 1st CDROM was made. If you look real real close you should see a little tiny hole near the tray of the rom. Take a paperclip and stretch it out until its straight. Stick it in the tiny hole and it should push ur CD tray out for u to retrieve ur cd back. If the paperclip is too big look 4 a straight pin or heavy needle.

REPLACE GATEWAY LAP TOP TOUCH PAD

HI THERE!!

Replacing the touchpad of your laptop is not difficult but because laptop parts are very delicate you need to be careful

To remove the touchpad you need to remove the top cover, also known as the palm rest

1.Power off the Gateway laptop, then disconnect the AC adapter from the power jack. Remove any other devices connected to the laptop.

2.Place your hand on a bare metal surface to release any buildup of static electricity. Close the lid to your laptop and turn the computer over.

3.Slide the battery lock over to the side to pop the battery out from its compartment.

4.Set the battery aside, then turn your computer over once again so that it's facing up. Rotate the laptop so that the back (not the bottom) is facing you.

5.Remove the two screws securing the bezel in place from the back of the laptop

6. Open the lid to the laptop, then insert a flat-head screwdriver underneath one end of the bezel to loosen it from the top cover. The bezel is located just above the keyboard, but below the monitor

7. Carefully remove the bezel the rest of the way. Insert the end of the flat-head screwdriver underneath the top of the keyboard to pull it away from the laptop.

8. Turn the keyboard over and place it face-down on the top cover. Remove the cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard. You may need to pull back and unlock a connector securing the cable in place.

9. Set the keyboard aside. Remove the four screws located just beneath the display panel, then remove the cable connecting the monitor to the motherboard. Carefully set the LCD display aside.

10. Remove the four screws located near the center of the top cover. Release small blue and white cable connecting the touchpad to the Gateway laptop.

11.Pull the top cover up from the base of the laptop, removing the touchpad along with it.

NOTE; you can remove your touchpad and swap it out with a new one, but you can also buy a top cover with a touchpad pre-installed.

How do i get a stuck cd out of my dell laptop...

There should be a tiny hole next to the eject button:
  • Straighten out a paper clip and push it into the little hole until you feel it "make contact"
  • Then, give it some "encouragement" (push it in farther) -- once you've pushed the paper clip in far enough, the CD drive should then manually eject itself
Hope that helps!

In gmail , The line themes and gadgets are missing

The Gmail themes tab is missing from the Settings because you are using the older Gmail version. To use themes on your account, you need to change to the standard version or the more advanced Gmail version. And this is how you do it.
Log in to your Gmail account. Once you get to the inbox, check for the Newer version link near the top right. You cannot miss it - it's to the right of the Settings link. By the way, changing the Gmail version will not harm or delete your email messages are information, so go ahead and click on the link.

Most probably you pressed the F11 key in the upper key row on your keyboard, and it entered "full screen" mode.
Press F11 to exit full screen mode, this should do the trick.
