Replace a starter relay solenoid
no i do not know where to download it from but its easy to do
there are two different starter solenoids and you will need to know this information before ordering a new one
so follow these instructions and it will be easier for you
DESCRIPTION
a solenoid is composed of copper coil windings
with a metal projectile inside
when a electrical current is passed through it it turns the metal projectile into a negative magnet and shoots it into what ever it need to move
(1) is pre engaged and is connected to your starter motor
and will take quiet a bit of knowledge and quiet a few tools to disconnect the starter solenoid from the starter motor
these are designed to make it harder for the diy mechanic to work on
so that you have to spend money in a work shop getting it repaired
most machines now days are fitted with this type of starter
(2) is a normal starter solenoid and stands alone
you will need to find this out before you replace it
and obtain the new starter solenoid from your local dealer
and make sure it is the right one for your (wet bike / jet ski)
these are designed for the home diy mechanic
and are very easy to replace
LOCATION
if it is a pre engaged type
from your main live battery terminal there will be a long red cable that goes direct to your starter solenoid that is attached to your starter motor
disconnect your main red cable and the two wires
undo your starter motor complete it will be easier to work on
may be dearer but easier to replace the whole unit
the non pre engaged type
your normal starter solenoid will be close to your battery normally in a rubber housing of some sort
the solenoid has two main live polls (one main cable goes to your battery with a label mark this with BATT)
(the second main cable goes to your starter motor with a label mark this with START)
and two wires coming from it (they go to your starter button)
and is placed between your battery and your starter motor
SOLUTION
make sure your battery is disconnected and both live and earth cables are undone and disconnected and remove the battery
your main RED live wire from your battery
follow it until it attaches to a block that block is your starter solenoid
disconnect the block by undoing both the nuts that hold the cable in place on the polls
disconnect the two wires
and replace in the same position as the original one
reconnect the cables and the wiring in reverse to the way you took them off
reconnect your battery
and start up
hope this info is ok
good luck
