turn the answer function off...................???

If nothing works, just check the cables, connections and fuses. is the power supply plugged in? did you try an other power supply? can you see any bad pice on the cable(s). Does the mains plug deliver any power? just some extra questions.

try googleing the phone model number and then try ebay.Good Luck!

I think you may have accidentally pressed the do not disturb button.It is on the base of your phone and shows red when on Just press it again.

your battery in phone is bad replace battery.

the phone should be reset by removing all power to the phone and base for about 15 minutes. to reset the phone remove the batteries from the phone, unplug the charger from the base AND unplug the phone line (there is voltage on the phone line) after you have reset the devices hook it all back and place the handset in the base for a few seconds to sync it to the system. do this with each handset.

be aware tho resetting it this way will remove any stored numbers from the memory.

The Cox Voice mail Service is a service provided by the Cox Corp. that allows you to store and check voice mail messages on your home land line phone. Of course, because the size of the voice mail in box is not unlimited, you will eventually need to delete some of your stored messages to make way for new ones. Fortunately, this process is not overly difficult, and you can accomplish it with a simple phone call.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy Instructions

1. Dial your home phone number from your home land-line. This will bring you to the main menu of the Cox voice mail system.
   
2. Press the "*" key on your phone, and input your password when prompted by the computerized voice.
   
3. Press "1" to begin a playback of all your stored messages.
   
4. Press "7" to delete each message in turn. Continue to press "7" at each message until all the messages in your voice mail in box are deleted.

Setting the Number of Rings (Excerpt from the Uniden Dect 1580 Phone manual

The ring time setting allows you to set the number of rings the caller hears before your answering system plays the outgoing message. You can set the ring time to answer after two, four, or six rings. If you enable the Toll Saver (TS) setting, the answering system picks up after two rings if you have new messages, and after four rings if there are
none. This way, if you make a long distance call to check your messages, you can hang up after the third ring to avoid long distance billing charges.

1. Press Menu/Select.
2. Select the Ans. Setup menu, and then the Ring Time submenu.
3. Move the cursor to select a ring time (Toll Saver, 2 Times, 4 Times, or 6 Times).
4. Press Menu/Select. You will hear a confirmation tone.

i think settings then profile the normal!

What worked for me was disconnecting both wire from base and ensuring languages are the same on base and phones. Hopefully this will help you also.
