We got mother a vtech5.8 phone for christmas this
Hi.
Power failure usually means that the phone is defective.
Try using the procedure below to reset the phone:
- Disconnect all power adapter cables from wall sockets.
- Remove all handsets from cradles.
- Remove all battery from cradles.
- Fit back the batteries in their handsets.
- Place back handsets in their cradles.
- Connect power cables.
The
procedure above will reset the system and will re-sync handset to
cradle.
If that does not work, then the phone is
defective. In that case you will need to ring the V-tech support number listed on phone's instructions. They will replace/repair the faulty handset or the whole system. The phone is covered with one year warranty. If you cannot get proof of purchase, try registering the phone first (see last link). That does not replace proof of purchase, but it can help. V-Tech is aware of most sales details, often they validate warranty even without proof of purchase.
