Hi
I am sorry to say the problem is that the LCD display screen is failing, unless these are under warranty the only way to fix the problem economically is to replace the phone set, sorry but the parts are more than the phones are worth and in most cases unless the phones are really recent models you will not be able to purchase the parts for them.

I have a Ge 25942EE4-C
We had this same problem and seeing that the Manual is incorrect, I searched GE website manuals to find a different one that at least looked like the right model and found out how to clear the CL message code. This is just a time/day setting and it is to be done by the handset, not the base unit, With the handset, press the flash key, then press #8. You should now see the time flashing in the display. Adjust the time then press the pound key. Now the day is flashing in the display. adjust the day with the up arrow, then press the pound key to finish. Your base unit will announce the time and day is set and the CL is gone.... good luck
I have GE 25942EE4-c I can't get it to replay in English
If it is the same as mine (a model 25952EE-1), just hold down the skip button for 2 seconds and it will change back to English. Then, if you want your user manual, go to the GE website www.GE.com, hover over "products" and click "A-Z index", then scroll down to "Consumer Products" and click on "web site" next to "telephones". Click on your area (mine was "North America"), Click on "User Guides" , Click on "Cordless", "English", "United States" (if those are your choices), Then click "Search". Scroll to your model number and download your user manual!
