my toddler managed to lock the handset of our telephone whilst playing with it. We can receive incoming calls but are unable to make outgoing calls. There is a key icon in the top right hand corner of the telephone screen.
Hold down the asterisk key, not the hash key.

My Uniden DECT 6.0 has no dial tone and I cannot dial out. Neither can anyone call me. When someone calls they tell me that they hear it ringing but I don't. It was working fine until we had to unplug all the phones for the carpet layers. After they left I plugged them all in again but got nothing.
Contact your service provider.

my uniden DECT 6.0 doesn't seem to allow incoming calls. The phone rings once, then disconnects (like a phantom ring). Sometimes it will allow incoming calls to go through, and sometimes it wont.
The problem may be a short on your line. (Have the local Teleco check your line.) If you have other phones, you may want to check them for dial tone(DT) when this happens. If you have no DT, your cordless may be the problem...unplug, and let charge overnight. If problem continues, replace the battery in cordless, or discontinue use.

Please advise as to how to increase the VOLUME on my DECT 6.0 phone.
To adjust the ringer volume:
Note: If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset won't ring. If you have any accessory handsets, other handsets will ring according to their individual settings.
To adjust the earpiece volume:
You can choose from six volume levels for the handset earpiece. To adjust the earpiece volume while on a call, press ^ to make it louder or v to make it softer. The handset display shows the current volume level for the earpiece.
To adjust the speaker volume:
You can choose from six volume levels for the handset speaker while on a speakerphone call. To adjust the handset speaker volume, press ^ to make it louder or v to make it softer. The handset display shows the current volume level for the handset speaker.
Note: The handset earpiece and the handset speaker have separate volume settings.

I have Uniden DECT1480-3. I purchased two expandable handsets, but I cannot figure out how to get the new handsets to register with the base unit.
Up to 6 handsets can be registered with the DECT 1480 phones. I have the 5 phone unit and needed to add the 6th phone. All I got was "Searching" in the display and the battery wouldn't even charge!
So here's what you have to do to get additional phones (up to 6 units) to work with the base. If you can get past step 1, it's a snap...
Step 1: Place a charged battery in the handset. This could be a problem if all your handsets are not registered, since unregistered phones don't charge (who thought of that design?). What I did was SWAP the battery from an already registered and charged phone with the new unregistered phone.
Step 2: Here's where the magic happens. Press the 'END' and '#' keys simultaneously... hold them down until a System Reset menu appears. Select "Deregister HS" and press Menu.
Step 3: Now, do the same thing again (hold down END and #), but this time select Base Unavailable and press Menu. You will see Base Unavailable Yes/No... Select Yes. Then place the handset in the base, wait a few seconds, and Voila!. it's registered. You can even change handset numbers using this menu if you play around with it.
Thank you, helpful employee at Costco for supplying the magic code. And hey there, UNIDEN... including this in the operation manual would have saved many customers much grief with de-registered phones!
Enjoy!

My uniden DECT 6.0 has flashing red light with no message. Red light will not stop. This phone has no find hs key.
You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

Uniden D1660 with caller id
One thing to try is deregestering your phone and registering it with the base again.
Hole the # and 'End' key on the handset until the next menu appears (about 5 seconds). Select deregister phone (use the 'Menu' button). Do it again, but select "base unavailable". After that, set them in the base (not the handset charger) and they should register with the base.
This works on most Uniden model phones.
