How to REregister handsets

You can unregister your phone without being in the cradle, but to re-register them, just put them back in the cradle.  After being unregistered, they will automatically re-register once they are put back in the cradle of the main base.  Try setting them back in the base cradle to re-register, and hopefully that will work for you.

My Uniden cordless phone will not ring through although I get the tone and put in the number However I can receive calls

It sounds as if your DTMF tones are slightly off frequency for some reason. I have never seen this happen with any phone, but production quality has gone down hill in recent years. As you can call your CELL but not land lines, it would appear that the tones are getting to the central office but are not necessarily being decoded correctly at their end. Try taking the phone system to a friends and try it there. if it works, you will know that it is your line and not your phone. You could also try another DTMF phone on your phone line. One other thing to check is if you have DP (Dial Pulse) selected on the base unit. If this is selected, you will still hear the tones in your phone, but the exchange will receive dial pulses, which are almost completely unused today. Where I live, you have to pay a premium to use a DP phone now!!

My mom has AT&T home phone line and her line

NO, if the wiring is inside your house it is your wiring and ATT will charge you just short of $200 an hour to repair it. You can call and order a new phone jack this will run you $125 have the technician disconnect all other jacks in the house. This should solve your problem but you will only have one jack.

Caller ID doesn't display and phone rings 1 time then stops

The Uniden TRU9XXX series has a high level of handset compatibility between bases. Depending on the handsets you bought to go with your 9480, you may be able to buy another model in the series and use the old handsets with the new model. Alternatively, you could buy another 9480 here (the -2 on the end of your model number just means that it came with an extra handset).

Before you do that, though, it might pay to hook up a regular (corded) caller ID-enabled phone to the line and see what happens there when you call. If it works properly, go buy your new phone. However, if you see the same behavior there as with the Uniden, chances are that the problem is not with the phones. Possible other causes could include a fax machine, modem, or other device in-line with the phone; a defective piece of equipment hooked up elsewhere in your house; etc. If nothing obvious applies, you might want to give the phone company another call--just because they couldn't find a problem on their end doesn't mean one doesn't exist.
