How can i unlock the motorola tracfone
You need to contact Tracfone and let them know you are temporarily going overseas and they will either email you a code or give you one over the phone.

The light on my phone went out and i can't see
Yes, the SIM card is what determines the phone number, so putting it in the new phone will have you set up immediately with your number and making calls.
But, sometimes contacts from the old phone were not set to be stored on the SIM. They CAN be stored on the SIM, but that doesn't mean they are always there. You probably have no choice, so try swapping the SIM to a new one anyway and see.
If the contacts and data didn't switch over, bring the phones to your AT&T (or T-Mobile or whoever you use) store and ask if they can transfer the data from one phone to the other for you. They have a machine they can hook both phones up to when the SIM card doesn't have the data saved on it already.
Good luck!

Press the "Menu" button and then the asterisk "*" in quick succession.
Pressing these same two buttons again will lock the phone.
(Note: the "Menu" button is the button in the center of the up, down, left, and right arrows. The asterisk "*" button is on the bottom left of the keypad.)

MY SIM CARD IS LOCKED
If you are getting sim locked. Even when you place it in another phone, you need to get it unlocked through your mobile provider. They'll give to you what is called a PUK code. Your phone will show a screen asking for a new pin code. Put in an easy one. It'll ask it again.
If you put in a code too many times prior to getting the PUK code, your phone is now a paper weight.
Unless you have a nokia, you can call the manufacture for it to be flashed.
I would also suggest, since you have a motorola, to download, for FREE motorola phone tools. From www.motorla.com it'll help you sync your info between computer and phone via Bluetooth or usb cable.
Enjoy
Cheers!
