How to download music on it?
Thanks for visiting FixYa!
To download music on your phone, you really need to do that while it is connected to your PC. And, your PC needs to have Motorola Phone Tools installed.
First, let's get you set up with Motorola Phone Tools. Click on the link, (below) and go to the website. There, you must sign up to become a member. It's easy. Simply fill in your info. and you'll receive an email to verify your email address. Click on the link in your email - go back to the website - and sign in.
You'll be directed to the phone support page. Click on the Motorola Phone Tools download link and go to the download page. Click to download the Motorola Phone Tools. Save it to your desktop and double click on it to install the program on your PC. (Make sure your phone is not connected to your PC during the install.
After it installs, it will ask permission to find and install updates. Click, Yes.
Once Motorola Phone Tools is installed you'll need to connect your phone to your computer. There are a couple of ways to do this.
1) USB - You'll need a USB cable and the USB charging drivers installed on your PC (Download on the Motorola Phone Support page where you signed in to become a member.) After installing the USB drivers, and connecting your USB cable to your computer and phone, start the Motorola Phone Tools Program. In the program, click on Media and follow the prompts. I believe you just drag and drop media files into the program.
2) Bluetooth - Your phone has bluetooth. You'll first need to look under your phone's battery and find the EXACT model number of your phone. (ie., L6, L6i, L6e etc.) This will be needed later. But you neded to have it handy.
If your PC has built in Bluetooth, skip down to, CONNECT:
If your PC doesn't have Bluetooth, then go to eBay and search for a USB Bluetooth doggle. It just plugs into one of your PC's USB ports and instantly - your computer has bluetooth.
CONNECT:
Next, on your phone go to: Menu (press the center of the large round center button on your phone) > Settings > Connection > Bluetooth (and press the button for 'Select'.)
Scroll down to Setup and press, Select again.
Scroll to, Power - and click on, Change.
Choose, On and click, Select.
Now, scroll up to, Find Me and click, Select.
The Bluetooth in your phone is now ON.
Now, you'r ready to connect to Motorola Phone Tools on your PC..
Start the Program by double clicking on its icon. When the program opens select, Default profile and click OK..
Follow the prompts.
When the Phone Set-up Wizard opens (Picture of boy in blue shirt) click Bluetooth.
Find your phone in the list - (where you looked under your battery for your exact model number) and select it from the Menu.
The wizard will begin to 'Find' your phone. You may wish to click, Find Me on your phone again to activate Bluetooth for another 60 seconds. Or, if you need to click on Re-detect in the wizzard if you need to.
When your phone is detected, use your mouse and click on the picture of your phone in the window - to highlight it - and click next.
Enter the Passkey on your phone the wizard gives to you.
Then you can use the Phone Tools program to transfer music from your PC to your phone.
