I think that your W880i was unlocked by a patch before updating, and now, it's relocked because of the patch will disappear when you install new firmware.

sounds like microphone is faulty and needs to be replaced as does the speaker.

I would look into if it would be cheaper to get another phone

Dear, its very easy to change the mic so if you don't have any experience of mobile fone repairing or opening a mobile fone so you just don't open yourself ok. so just go to a mobile fone repairer to fix your problem, its not very expensive...Thanks

Hi,this is how you set up yous sony ericsson W880i,

1.you insert the battery in the battery slot behind the phone,and turn on the phone from the power button in the keypad,

2.when the phone comes on,you will be asked if you want to setup wizard,click yes,

3.Follow the instuctions,given by the phone step by step until the phone completes the set up.

4.Exit the set up wizard,and start using your phone.

the default code is 12345 format it by factory settings

You've inadvertently switched on the Walkmate application that comes with all Sony Ericsson Walkman phones.the little footprints that you see...it's simply measuring the number of steps you take per day, that's why it's increasing, because you must be walking around with it in your pocket and its motion sensor is measuring the number of steps you take.
To turn it off , go to Organizer --> Applications , it should be listed there, turn it off or invisible.
