Phone displays only : bootloader usb ini whats
Hi, the problem you are having is with the phones firmware you will need to take this phone into a phone shop and have the phone flashed and the firmware re-installed, the problem with this is you can only have it done at a phone shop as they need to install all the software back on the phone and the other problem is that this will wipe the phone so you will lose anything on it.
you can back it up if you have the leads to your computer and the correct pc suite for your make of phone if you dont have this just ask the phone shop to back it up for you.
their is no other way of doing this as you cant get the firmware and re-install it yourself the phone shop will charge you for doing this but it will be cheaper if you go to one of those independant shops instead of one of thos bigger branded ones.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

I need to purchase a replacement screen
Take it to your nearest phone company store. You can't just buy a replacement screen. You have to buy the whole phone or have a technician look at it. Sorry about the trouble, I wish you the best of luck.

Bootloader usb ini
I had the same problem so I called Motorola Tech support. They told me the BOOTLOADER USB INI message meant that the software for the phone wasnt updated and in order to update it to the right software you'd have to send it in to them to fix it for free ONLY if its still under their 1 year warranty or else you'll have to buy a new phone. So next time you guys get a new phone make SURE you UPDATE YOUR SOFTWARE REGULARLY! I learned my lesson. I am so pissed.
P.S. Is there anyway of getting your contacts off through the comp even if your phone wont power on?

Boost mobile motorla c290
Hello,
You should get the phone to a service center because most probably the phone's firmware was corrupted and needs to be reflashed.
However you may check if the phone can be saved by issuing the following command. Close the phone first. Now press (and keep pressed) both " * " and " # " keys. With these 2 keys pressed, press the power button (red phone). Your phone should enter bootloader mode. Try this combination some 3-4 times if you don't succed at first and remember your phone must be closed when you begin. If the phone enters in bootloader mode it would be relative easy for a service center to fix it by reflashing it's rom and this woun't cost too much, otherwise it may turn out to be expensive and difficult to save the phone.

Bootloader USB INIT
Hello,
Reflashing the phone requires that you have acces to some service software programs (PST for example) and a correct, unlocked, stock flash+flex pack, also compatible with your bootloader version. As a general rule of thumb, if you don't know what this terms mean i recomand you try to avoid the process. Some people ended up with bricked (dead) phones because they simply didn't had some field experience with flashing phones or service and bootloader commands. My advice would be to play it safe and try to get help from a service center.
