error 6A00 has appeared and it will not go away even after turning it on and off
any ideas gratefully received
Joan
I have the Canon Pixma iP4000R printer. I had an error code of 6A00 and my power light was blinking/flashing green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange (12 oranges).
I tried the “waste ink counter reset reset” procedure: Power on while holding the stop/reset button and pushing the service button twice, then pushing the stop/rest button 4 times to clear the error, but that didn’t work.
My ink cartridge carrier wasn't moving. I thought I had a paper jam.
I looked at a few blogs about my error on other Canon Pixma models and they kept talking about “sponges”.
The following is what I discovered that cleared my error and now my printer is back to printing!
The “sponges” are 2 hard pieces of absorbing plastic or something of the like. I was looking for a softer material like the long thin gray foam strip material in my printer. The 2 "sponges" on my Pixma iP4000R were next to each other-one was rectangular and one was square-like. Originally they were white but the ink made them black/navy.
The "sponges" are located on the right under where the ink cartridge carrier "rests".
I didn't see the sponges at first, as there was a white backwards “L” shaped plastic piece that had a spring attached to it. The “L” shaped piece was moved forward out of its place. I used my pen tip and pushed that piece back and found that the rectangular "sponge" had popped out of its place.
I used a pen tip popped both “sponges” out and rinsed them with water and voila they were once again white. I think the rectangular one had so much ink on it it popped itself out of place.
My error is gone and I can print again!

I'm confused about the Canon Pixma MP600 all-in-one printer. We just got a laptop, and I would like to print wirelessly. However, when I review the manual, I see comments about "blue-tooth enabled devices" and printing from mobile phones.
1) Do I need the bluetooth adapter to print from a computer, or only to print from mobile phones?
2) Will the bluetooth adapter work if my computer has another wireless system (I don't remember what it is, but I remember is wasn't bluetooth!)
3) Can I connect wirelessly to this printer without bluetooth? How?
Thanks!
Valerie
1) you need it to print from a laptop if you do not want to have to set up another computer, and mobile phone have bluetooth buit in
2) YES
3) set up the printer on another computer, and set it for sharing. Then make sure that you laptop is recognized in the network connections wizard, then on the laptop select add new printer and select the bullett that say a network printer. the rest is pretty easy, select browse for a printer or something, it is the first option, select it, say yes to all dialogue boxes, and let the computer do the rest.

the screen tells me to place document on platen glass and puch the diamond button - i do that and nothing happens? I even try holding it and pushing the color button and both otf them - can you help
What you need to do is go to the Canon driver downloads page and download the MP Navigator. I had the same problem becuse the disc that came with the printer doesn't work with Vista. You have to know which programs to download! You only need the MP Driver and the MP Navigator and all should work!

My new Canon MP610 will not scan. Copy and print are working well. I try to scan, but get the Scangear message 'Cannot communicate with scanner. Cable may be disconnected or scanner may be turned off. Scanner driver will be closed. Code 2,155,0.
I am running Windows XP on a Dell.
The readme says that some USB hubs have an issue.
I was having problems and was connected via a hub. I removed the hub and connected the printer directly to the back of the PC and voila scanning is all good.

Dell 32 bit w/vista. Everything works except scan. It used to work, but not now. ANY drivers available to correct this. Thanks
I was having the same problem and searched online and found the latest MP Navigator software at this website. After installing it, all you have to do is click scan on the computer, and it work like a charm.

Canon pixma MP600, error code 5010, what does it mean ?
Can not turn the printer on for any other purpose, no scanning, copying or printing.
There are a few things you can try:
The overall issue with error code#5010 is a scanner malfuntion. If the problem returns, check the ribbon cable as it runs from your scanner to the main logic board. If all is secure and you still have the problem, the printer may need a new logic board.
