Katana II is not a GSM phone, so, there's no SIM card.

Because new SIM cards working at lower power (1.8V) meanwhile Sanyo Katana is older model thus support old SIM cards (3.5V).

if you are using a new katana you can either memorize or write down teh button sequence to navigate to the bluetooth settings that need to be changed for the data transfer to occur. thats what i had to do with mine after i ran it over with a snow plow. phone still works just no display... and its in two pieces. it took about an hour to get it all right, but it should work.

actually if you go into "phone info" in "settings" in your menu you will find an "icon glossary". in the glossary it will tell you that that is not a black box with a frowny face, but an image of a cassette indicating you have a new voice memo waiting to be heard. either someone sent you a voice memo, or you recorded one in the "voice services" menu and haven't listened to it yet. you can listen in the voice services menu as well as record.

If you mean unlock it to another carrier, you will either have to purchase an unlock code on the internet or call your carrier and request an unlock code. If you mean unlock it beacuse it is protected by a pin, the only way to get around that is by resetting it.

This is the problem the speaker on your phone, I will give you some tips to clarify this
* try with the hands free (if you have)
* try with the loudspeaker mode.

If it works good in these modes, then you got to replace the hearing speaker.

try 0000 as unlock code

*67 and then dial the number.

you need to unlock the phone i cant provide such asa feer cpode check the net for cheap instant unlock codes based on IMEI.

The standard unlock code for my Katana is 0000. Once you unlock it you can change it to whatever 4 digit numbers you would like. Let me know if this works for you, please.

Yes- take the device to a Sprint store (thats who you actually talked to) and ask them to upgrade the software on your phone. This is a known issue and your firmware needs to be updated.

Try taking out the batteryand putting back in after 1 min, if phone still does not turn on try a different charger if possible, and if that doesnt work it's probably the battery unless the phone has been introduced to any forms of liquid. You can get cheap chargers or batteries on ebay or I can get you one prettycheap as well. Let me know if you have any more questions.
