I bought this philips gogear mp3/video 2GB player (model SA3125) month ago. I installed the software. then I tryed to download a video clip on to it but I could't watch it. Video converter does not work properly?
Wheni bought this mp 3 player I had windows xp on my old computer video clips downloaded and worked fine. I came accross this problem when i bought my new computer with windows vista.
Is there an extention that i have to download for vista compatibility?
The Phillips Go Gear is not compatible to Windows Vista, and there is nothing one can download to make it compatible. I contacted Phillips, and they said that there are no plans to update the software so that it works on Vista. Pass this to everyone that is having a similar problem. Contact Phillips on their website, and request that the Phillips Go Gear software be updated to include Windows Vista. If more people raise a stink (especially threatening never to buy Phillips products), maybe something will be done.

unable to get my laptop to recognize it with the software provided. I would like to find the driver or whatever to get them to communicate with each other. Somewhat of a novice here - I know shocking right? : ) Janet
its me again :(...ok i downloaded the SW for my mp3 player now the philips device manager says your player is not connected to the computer...i have it plugged in right...can someone please help me
Make sure you are running Windows XP & Windows Media Player 10.
If you have already rolled back from Media Player 11 to 10, make sure you also uninstall Media Player 11 Runtime fro the add/remove programs list.

Philips GoGear Firmware Upgrade
You need to get the latest firmware upgrade from the Philips website:
1. Go to www.philips.com/support
2. Enter your country/language
3. Enter your model # SA6045 or whatever
4. Click on the link for your exact model # (the one w/o the "B" in it)
5. Click on "Software & Drivers"
6. Download the updated "Device/Firmware Manager"
7. Once installed, open the Philips Device Manager
8. Click on the "Update" tab, then the "Update" button (with your mp3 player connected to the computer, of course)
9. Your Mp3 players firmware will update automatically
If you do not have the latest version of the Philips Device Manager installed (the latest is the version from the Philips website), then clicking the "Update" button will give you a false positive saying "The firmware on your device is already up to date."

Recovery Mode for Philips' GoGear
Disconnect the player from the PC, and make sure the mp3 player is turned off. Hold in the volume + button on the mp3 player, and reconnect the player to your pc while holding in the volume + button. Continue holding the volume + for 10-15 seconds until a "Found New Hardware Wizard" pops up. It should recover your device if there isn't anything internally wrong with the player. Warning: this procedure will result in your songs being erased off the player, so they will have to be reloaded.

Only one side of my earphones work. I have tried several other earphones and when plugged into my sansa mp3 player that one side still does not work? My daughter has the same problem with her MP3 earphones. They have stopped working on the left side twice now. If this is a wiring problem, wouldn't the wire be cheap on both sides? This is very irritating!

drm license not available when i was trying to listen to my mp3 it wont let me listen to any type of song.
You need to plug your mp3 into the computer you downloaded your music from to sync it up. Go to that website and if you dont get a pop up asking if you want to sync your device. You should do this at least once a week.

i tryed charging it, reseting it, turning it on. EVERYTHING!
it will not turn on even if its been charged. The reset is stuck in.
what to do!
Have you reset the player? Reset the player by holding the off-switch and the
volume-+ (plus) switch.
If this doesn't help try this: Connect your player to the pc that has the Philips device manager
running, then reset the player by holding the off-switch and the
volume-+ (plus) switch. As soon as the player shuts off, press and
hold the volume- - (minus) switch. The Philips device manager will
recognize the player now, and recommend a repair, let it do so.

Hi Ayesha. Resetting the device should be able to fix minor problem with the unit. Since resetting the device had no effect, the problem you might encountering there is more of firmware problem. Try to reinstall/upgrade the firmware of your device. Philips has software that is called SONGBIRD. I think you have that one in the cd when you purchased the program You may download the progra,m by clicking here. Below is the procedure on how to perform the uprgade:
Download and install the Phillips Songbird program. Launch the Phillips Songbird software.
Connect the Phillips GoGear MP3 player to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Click the icon of your GoGear MP3 player on the left side of the Songbird interface.
Click the "Tools" tab. Click the "Check for updated firmware" button. If a new update is available for your device, it will be downloaded and applied. Do not disconnect the GoGear MP3 player until the Songbird program tells you that the installation is complete.
Hope this helps..
