File Format Not Supported

The songs may have been WMA's with a fixed term license. The license is now expired. They will need to be reacquired.

If you are certain that your songs are in mp3 format instead of WMA format, then your DB is corrupt, and you will need to run a Repair in the program called Philips Device Manager.

Free

Limewire, Morpheus, or Frostwire are the free music services - This is how you do it, but I do not reccomend any of the three for the following reasons:
1) They are virus-prone
2) Some ISP's will cut off your internet service if you use Limewire

Even "free" services come with a cost in safety

I can not get videos onto the philips media converter

The Philips Media Converter doesn't naturally recognize FLV format, which is what most YouTube videos are in. You will need to get a free program such as Riva FLV Encoder and convert the FLV files to AVI format. Once they are in AVI format, the Philips Media Converter will recognize them, and you will be able to convert/transfer them to your mp3 player.

Driver for philps go gear digital audio player

Try either going to the Windows Vista site and find your problem listed in a drop down menu, if this doesn't work find the manufactures website, most will offer patches or dowloads directly into the device to overcome problems like this.

I have a philips gogear 8gb freezes up several times a hour

Unfortunately the GoGear HDD series is totally incompatible with Windows Vista and Windows Media Player 11. It will work for a while, and then behave exactly as you described. Solution: You will need to uninstall your GoGear software, rollback to Windows Media Player 10, reinstall the GoGear software, update the firmware on your player, and even then the damage may already be done (IMO, it is more trouble than this player is worth). You can read about the warnings on Philips website.

Music seconds dont start counting and theres no sound!

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.
