Is Liverpool a place to go for a cheap European Break?
Liverpool
is a beautiful place to visit with its historic destinations dating
back to the medieval times. Even the buildings that lined the streets of
Liverpool reek of ancient times but are kept to their architecture even
to this time. This is also the place where the Beatles started their
singing career as a group decades ago. Liverpool is hosts to many hotels
in the city to include hotels Liverpool
situated at the very heart of the city and near most of the attractions
of the city like the Liverpool ONE, Echo Arena, Albert Dock, a variety
of theatres and music venues, the World Museum, Tate Liverpool,
Merseyside Maritime Museum, the Beatles Story and the Cavern Club.

I have tomtom in uk and i am going to india. so
Yes but won't be a very useful exercise. Because, you will have to purchase a new map of India, install it (provided you have an SD card slot) or install it to the hard drive (provided you have the space) and switch the maps. Very easily said than done.
Most important of all, I do not think, Tom Tom offers a map of India. It would be best to buy a cheap one that comes with mapmyInida maps pre-installed. My one suggestion would be look for a GPS where you can navigate by latitude and longitude input as an option. Since most towns/rural areas do not have street/Avenue intersections, locating your destination in Google and feeding that lat/lon to your GPS would enable you to use your GPS far better in those conditions.
If you travel in Inida with a GPS on Lat/Lon inputs, I would definitely like to hear your experience. Send a Personal Message on
[email protected] please. Check out Mapmyindia.com. Garmin seems to have India maps and GPS in the Rs. 8000/- range. Costlier compared to US prices though.

No signal gps
Are you indoors (inside a house, building, garage)? The GPS must be able to "see the sky" in order to get a signal. Please note that it takes a while for it to get a signal once it does see the sky. It must sync with several satellites before it can pinpoint your location and this takes a few minutes. If you are inside, move next to a window.
If you are outside, check to make sure that the GPS is near the windshield (or window of your car) and you aren't under the cover of trees or other objects. Anything between the satellite and the sky will obstruct its ability to sync. Unfortunately, they sometimes have trouble getting a signal on a cloudy day, too.
