If the input connections have any loose connections at both ends, of the graound connection to both the devices are not proper, this kind of fault [intermittent sound and static noise] can occur. Reconnect all the connections and check the connection wires. OK.

most likely your CD player doesn't support the formatting of the CD you are trying to use.

you didn't mention if this happens to ALL the CDs you try to play or only for specific ones.
if you don't use a copied CD do you still have an issue?

If your powered subwoofer could accept speaker level input, like, say a Klipsch KSW-series, you wouldn't need it.

It can be bought from most of the electronic spare part shops near to you. You must have the borken belt in hand as sample. it will help you to choose the correct replacement. OK.

Before we throw in the towel, turn it off and exercise every control a lot of times throughout its range, particularly the Tape Selectors. Sometimes oxides will develop on seldom used controls and their 'normally closed' contacts will not pass a signal.

The "no disc" message is a generic one indicating that the disc couldd not be read. This can be caused by a dirty lens (most common) or faulty optics. If you can gain access to the optics, try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that fails to resolve the problem, then the optics probably have failed and need to be replaced.

Check the headphone socket if it cuts out the speakers (normal use) when you plug the headphones in. If it doesn't and you have a switch to switch off the speakers when listening to headphones, check the switch. It may be physical damage or dirt causing the problem, or even loose soldering on the headphone socket. But the fact that headphones work shows the main amp is working. Also make certain the speakers are connected properly.

The stylus should not be a problem. Without knowing the make and model of the turntable, however, there is no way to respond about hte arm. You have listed this question under the Rotel receiver category, can you pelase supply the ,ake and model of the turntable? Also, supply any numbers that appear on the current stylus so I can verify that either the exact one or a similar substitute is available.
