Sorry, I'm so late and I guess you've found the answer by now...but....the driver that is supplied with the skyfone doesnt work with Windows 7 - you need the SkypeMate driver, not the one that comes with the phone...btw, does yours crash on a regular basis?

Looks like connectivity issue, so it can be wi-fi dongle.
If any other pc/laptop has wired internet connection Or if you can wire-connect present pc/laptop then you can test using skype from it. If it works fine then wi-fi dongle maybe the culprit.

Also there are many sites for testing internet connection speed etc.
Test your internet connection using the dongle.

All those types of places usually have a button that says forgot password. Press that and see how they will let you reset it! But if you don't have access to say for example the email you used to start it and they can reset it via sending you an email then click the link within to reset, you won't be able to. Various sites even can send you a code via text message etc....there is lots of diff ways our fave sites can reset our passwords we forgot. But a few are very crazy and cause you a headache that just making a new acct is easier & safer! you must complete a full disk check(your disk has bad blocks OR its FULL! ouch!). Open my_computer, select and right click the os disk and choose properties, click tools, click check disk. schedule a full test restart and let the test run to completion(takes at least 5-10 mins) then try again. Could need a skype re-install.
