your kind of screwed. Download Knoppix and burn it to a cd then run it to back up your files. Then your going to have to put in your vista disk and boot from it then reinstall vista

re-installtion of windows is the best option in this situation.

Unplug the power to your internet and restart you computer. While computer is restarting plug power back into internet. If this does not help message me back and we can try something else.


Problem is probably you have too many programs open and you Ram is being used up. If it is a computer that is 2 or 3 years old you might want to consider a RAM Upgrade.

Try resetting your wireless router frm the reset button on your router....After that goto -control panel-network connections-right click on wireless connection-click on repair

If it is your computer your login should be enough for the admin - if not login as the admin which will be your login id. If you are a user on this computer than you need the owner to login and this will resolve your problem. Since you got this from your school chances are they never wiped clean the system and you should do so if you are the new owner of the computer. there are several downloadable programs available online, do a search for "xp keyfinder" or "find xp key software" in your favorite browser. read everything before you use one. a bad key program could bring in a virus....any always make sure you have a legit copy of windows or you could find yourself in a position where you cant activate or update your software... hope this helped..

You need to ge the newest drivers for your wireless card. See if Compaq offers any wireless drivers. Another option is go to Microsoft update.

Click on Custom rather than Express install.
Look on the left and there should be a high priority tab, a software tab and a hardware tab. Click on Hardware and see if it is offering drivers for your wireless card.
