HP Compaq WF1907 Monitor Questions & Answers
Why does its say no HVI Connection
DVI is a Digital Video Input/Interface. I think what happened is you have changed your inputs on your monitor but that is only if your monitor has several different types of inputs. Check for that and if so then switch your input on your monitor.

I found a tablet pc
The pen input is not available on the HP W1907 monitor. I have three of them and Win 7 tells me the same thing but there is no firmware in this monitor that supports pen input. There are other models that HP puts out that do and the driver is the same so the option appears in Win 7 by default. Sorry to give bad news. (trust me, I was excited at first followed by the Aw ****!)
Hp w-1907 monitor goes black
This is a well known issue and I have posted a resolution in another area on this site if you try a related search. It involves some thermal paste replacement. However, soon after the post it bit me in the behind and I had a failure. The actual issue is the "trigger" that powers the inverters for the CCFL bulbs gets lost and the circuit turns the bulbs off. If you look close you will see the image is still there but there is no backlight to allow you to see it. There are some Chinese sources that sell the power / inverter board for about $40.00 USD shipping included. I found them via this seller:

Tired to start up computer
Looks like you may have a hard drive problem or you may have to setup your BIOS due to some kind of BIOS battery or power failer.
When the monitor is turned
You may have power supply or backlights inverter problem, or worst case will be the lamps.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed HP monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

On the front or top of the display panel are several buttons. The first is the power button, another will be the audio adjust button, there is also a quick view box button that has an icon tha looks like it little monitor. This opens and closes the quick view window, push this button the close the quick view box. Pushing it again should open the quick view box.

digital god, Go here first:
http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02/hp-pavilion-f1703-flat-panel-display-blackout-solution/ May be of some help to you. It's an old blog, but do some reading there and then you might decide to fix (DIY) or just trade in for new monitor. If DIY is what you want to attempt, then you will also need to visit YOUTUBE using "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" as search terms. Your +5vdc rail seems to be ok! +12vdc rail which supplies the inverter circuit might be in "shut down mode". Inverter takes 12v and makes 500 to 800v ac to light-up the "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" (CCFL's) on the reverse side of the lcd panel. +5v powers the logic interface board (vga to lcd panel conversion) digital stuff! I hope this helped you some. Problem is not anything new in the world of ccfl back-lit-lcd monitors of ALL brands!!! 12fixlouie

Check the monitor on another computer to verify if using correct setting for this monitor will allow a clear image to be displayed.
In windows 7, the monitor should be detected and installed automatically.

Try another cable, borrow one, then try monitor in another PC / laptop, if it works then either the software settings for the sleep mode are on or it may be a faulty video card.
