I am trying 0.037 Amps to milliamperes by useing the x10x button i am preety sure i should press 0.037x10-3 but the answer comes up 37/1000000 when the answer should be 37 not sure if the calculators

Prefixes such as milli already reflect the corresponding multiplier or divisor. One milliamp is 1/1000th of an Amp, so 37 milliamps = 0.037 of an Amp.To keep two sides of an equation the same, you need to perform the same operation on each side. In this case, the equation is 37/1000 = 0.037. The "divide by 1000" part of this equation is included in the word "milliamp", hence 37 milliamps = 0.037 Amps.Another way of looking at it is that a number remains unchanged if you both divide and multiply it by the same number. In this case, changing to milliamps is dividing by 1000, so you need to multiply by 1000 to keep the result unchanged.You have actually divided by 1000 twice as a result of using x10^-3 as a multiplier when you should have used x10^3

My student has this the

The calculator has two Input/Output Modes: The MathIO and LineIO modes. Line IO is the old input mode where all symbols are written on a single line. MathIO permits fractions to show as they would in a textbook (a horizontal fraction bar and two squares, one on top and the other at the bottom. Pi can be used as Pi and irrational square roots are displayed with the root symbol. etc,,
If you are in MarhIO and you get a result with fractions, radicals, or pi. you can readily convert it to its decimal approximation by pressim the SD key. If you enter some expression with fractions and radicals and you do not want the result displayed with fractions or radicals you press SHIFT = instead of =,
Now if you do not care to have ANYTHING displayed as a fraction, radical or with PI, just set the IO mode to the old LineIO.
To effect that, press SHIFT MODE to enter the SETUP. Select 2:LineIO. From that moment on you will no longer see a fraction, nor a radical nor PI, e,

If you ever reset the calculator, the MathIO mode will be restored as default IO mode.

How do you change Casio

There are three ways to enforce the changes, and it is quite impressive for this calculator. Yet for you it is not enough. I am sorry but I am not aware of another way.

Maybe, just maybe, if you fixed the number of decimal digits to 0, all your results will be integers, and there won't be any reason to convert any result to a decimal and the problem will be solved.

How do I solve for

Do you really need a calculator to solve a linear equation? Let us see how to solve it without a calculator.Remove the parentheses fronm the second term on the left : y-3Use the distributive property on the last term on the right side -2y-6Take the term -3 to the right side, changing its sign in the process (becomes +3)Take the -2y term to the left making it +2y.3y +2y=18+3-6 or 5y=15 and the answer is straightforward .As to your Casio FX300ES, it cannot solve equations because it does not have an EQUATION calculation mode. The Casios FX-115ES and FX-991ES have an Equation Mode. If you use any of the two to solve an equation in one variable (linear, quadratic or other) the unknown is taken to be x by default. You would have to change the name of the variable from y to x.

For the basic functions it is exactly like any calculator. Press keys to enter a number, press an operation symbol (+, -, x , /) then the equal sign.
For the more advanced functions and functionalities I am afraid you will have to consult the manual. The appendix has examples for each type of advanced calculations.

A tree on a hillside casts a shadow 215 ft. down

x is the height of tree, y and z are as denoted in picture:

elessaelle_0.png
  1. cos(22°)=y/215==>y=cos(22°)*215=199.3 ft
  2. sin(22°)=z/215==>z=sin(22°)*215=80.5 ft
  3. tan(52°)=(x+z)/y==>x+z=y*tan(52°)=255.1 ft
  4. x=255.1-z=255.1-80.5=174.6 ft
