This calculator does not have an equation solving routine. You will have to solve it by hand. Try to guess what number, which added to 2 gives a sum of 3? You have it! x=1
Complex matrix
Please consult your calculator's manual. You will find out that it does not perform complex number calculations nor matrix calculations. Thus there is no way to do complex matrix calculations.
Standard Deviation
Hello,
If you want to do statistics with this calculator you press [MODE][3:STAT]. You have then 8 options 1:1-var, 2:A+BX, etc.
For one variable statistics you press 1. Enter the values for the X variable in the template. Once finished you press [SHIFT][1](STAT) then select the value you want ( n, x bar , and the standard deviations (X sigma n) and (X sigma n-1).

How do you change decimal to fraction on a CASIO fx-300ES PLUS
To convert a single value between the symbolic and decimal formats, press the S--D key (above the DEL key). To have all results come out in symbolic form press SHIFT [MODE] 1 to select the MthIO mode.Be aware that the calculator cannot display all values in symbolic form.
Radical calculation
There are limits to what the calculator can display in symbolic form, and roots beyond the second (square roots) are beyond its capabilities. Even something as simple as the cube root of 2 will be displayed numerically.
What does the E button do?
The Casio fx-300ES doesn't have a button marked "E" (at least mine doesn't). On some calculator models a button marked "E" is used for entering exponents of ten.If you mean the one marked "e" then this gives you the value of Euler's constant e.

rectangles one on top of the other and a horizontal bar between them.
