Cant get answers in decimal format
Hello,
To make sure that results are always in decimal format, put a decimal mark (point) at the end of one integer.
ex: 1./2 or 1/2. or 1./2. display as 0.5, so does 1. + 1/2
To convert from decimal to fraction and from fraction to decimal press a b/c
To convert from proper to improper fractions use [SHIFT][d/c]
Hope it helps.
I WANT MY ANS IN FRACTIONS NOT DECMIALS
Set the Input Output Display mode to MathIO. In thsi mode answers are given in fraction-radical forms whenever possible. To toggle between Fraction/radical and decimal, press the S<=>D key.
To access the above screen press [SHIFT][MODE](SetUp).
Polynomial equations
This calculator cannot do algebra so it does not handle polynomials. It does not have an EQN (equation) solving mode so you cannot enter an expression set = 0 and solve it for an unknown variable X.It does have a table Mode where you can enter an expression y= F(X) and generate a table of values. If in the expression F(x) a numerical coefficient is a fraction just enter it as a fraction, possibly enclosed in parentheses. If it is a decimal number just enter it as a decimal number. Converting it to a fraction is not going to generate any more precision in the result. You lose precision when you go from fraction to decimal, but you do not make a number more precise by converting it from a decimal representation to a fraction.
I get lots of little squares you can see the result but behind theres alot of little squares
The calculator belongs to a new generation of scientific calculators that enjoy the feature called MathPrint by TI, Natural Display by Casio, and WriteView by SharpWhen the calculator is configured to work with this Display you are shown a template as you would see on a textbook. The squares are the places where you enter the numbers. For example when you press the fraction key the calculator displays a the picture of a stacked fraction with one square on either side of the horizontal fraction bar. The square where the cursor is located and blinking appear dark. You start entering the numerator there, then you use the down arrow to move to the denominator. When fraction is finished you move the square away from the fraction to the main line using the right arrow key.I hole this solves the annoying problem of the mysterious squares. Please read the manual to learn about this feature so that you can decide whether to take advantage of it or not.
Ratio division
A ratio is a comparison between two quantities which is often represented as a division operation.
Get rid of scientific c notation
From the other question posted it appears that your problem is not with the scientific display, rather it is with
decimal representation (approximate) or fraction/radical (exact).
representation. If your results are in fraction/radical form press the [S<>D] key to switch from one to the other. The calculator is by default in the MATHIO t output mode: results are in fraction/radical form.If you don't like to work with this mode just change the IO mode to LineIO. To do so, press [SHIFT][Mode](Setup) and selct 2:LineIO
My calculator is to light and i have no 2nd key
The key is marked [Shift] on Casios, [2nd] on TI's, and [2nd F] on Sharps. I have seen some cheap calculators that mark the key as [Inv]. HP calculators are rather different in that respect.
Solving for x? e.g: 2+x = 3
This calculator does not have an equation solving routine. You will have
to solve it by hand. Try to guess what number, which added to 2 gives a
sum of 3? You have it! x=1
