If this is a slot loading machine there may be a little hole next to the CD-Rom drive. Slide a paper clip into the hole and the CD should pop right out. If this is not a slot loading machine then it will be the same procedure only the hole for the CD-Rom will be on the CD-Rom tray itself

I'm thinking that your battery in the iMac is dead or very close to being dead. Or your power cord is no good anymore or your power supply is on the verge of being dead. Hope it helps.

That is most likely why it isn't working. It is possible the driver disk you have simply doesn't have the 10.3.5 driver on it.
