Unlocking Disc Tray?
If you want to remove the entire tray, remove the top of the casing and the the front as well. The front is held on by a screw on top and two smaller screws, one on each side. Then remove this face plate by releasing the clips built into the unit, two on each side, two on top, and two bigger ones on the bottom. Try to just lay the face plate/front cover down beside the unit to avoid the effort of disconnecting the other pieces. Remove the two screws, one on each side, of the dvd laser top cover. Remove the two screws under that, one on each side, they're also accessible without removing the dvd laser top cover at all, but either way all four screws need to be removed. Remove the center screw holding the top of the tray/turntable. Then remove the turntable top, you'll have to pry this up near the dvd laser while sliding it around to get it past the two interlocks(inch wide lip overhanging) built into the tray bottom. This may not be necessary to remove, but it makes it easier to slide the tray out later. Next remove the two screws holding the tray mounting brackets in place, there is one located on each side near the front. You may only have good access to one side and should remove it first to give yourself more room to work on the tighter side. You may even be able to pull the tray out without removing that side's screw and bracket at all. The tray should slide out of the front then, like it does when it opens during normal operation. At least put the top cover to the dvd laser back on, and if you're wanting to reattach the top of the turntable, remember to do that first...before attaching the dvd laser cover. There may be one or more screws somewhere I didn't mention to remove, it's been awhile since I took one apart. And of course, don't look at the dvd laser and don't mess with the two 250v capacitors...they will still be charged and can shock you. They'll look like two black cylinders, side by side, each about the size of a C battery or a little smaller. Most likely you should be fine unless you remove the power supply board and make contact with the soldering points on the underside. Just try not to slip the screw driver and so forth. Hope this helps, it's about all I could remember, so look for other attachments, screws, etc if you get stuck.
