read the recording studio book and it will say WHAT TO DO
Lexicon Omega will not play any sound on Windows XP
one of several install steps (the steps seem to vary depending on which manual you can find) mention checking your sound device setup in control panel. ON one machine I installed the sound devices were not affeted. On a 2nd PC they were changed from drivers installed with PC to the Lambda driver
Win XP settings->control panel->Sounds and Audio Devices then select Audio tab. Make sure the three areas are set up to use your PC's default drivers and not lambda's.
You may need to verify this again when reconnecting the Lambda USB cable. Sort of new but ran into this "issue" as well.
Found info in Lambda Studio Software Installation Guide I downloaded, step B following driver install.
It says I can not
What recording software are you using? What version of Windows are you on? The ASIO driver for the Lambda should have been installed when you loaded the software that it came with, and if so there should be a control panel that will allow you to select that. The other option is to use ASIO4ALL. It is a free ASIO driver that works really well for most sound cards and software instruments and recording software like Cubase, Nuendo or the many other programmes out there.
If you need more help let me know.
Cheers.
Sometimes power comes on and sometimes it does not.
Are you running Vista? Lexicon is working on some firmware and software updates to fix the problem. The only workaround is to unplug and replug your USB cable when it stops working. As long as you are actually using the Lambda, it should work.

Lexcion lamda and a mixer
yes you can. simply take a 1/4 in cable from the main out of you mixer and plug it in through one of the line in inputs on the back.
then plug whatever you want to record in through the mixer
No gain
happened to me too, I just fiddled with the phantom power button (wiggled it a little while it was pressed in) and my gain came back *shrug*
