Do you have a CD inserted into unit? Does the unit accept cd's when inserted? If so can you hear the disk spinning up once inserted? If so is the CD a home made or store bought album? Try a different CD. If still will not play automatically look for a input button on unit.

The output of an amplifier is usually stated differently, eg., 30 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms.
Sometimes in addition a manufacturer might state a "total music power".

Manufacturers quote an RMS power output figure as a means of comparing one system with another but in reality these figures prove little in the real world of music and speech and the figure for total music power is even less realistic, as this figure often is based on mathematical trickery and/or notional quantities.

When an output is quoted as being into an 8 ohm it is often theoretically possible to use 4 ohm speakers instead and double the power output. Some amplifiers are quoted with both types of speakers but using 4 ohm instead of 8 ohm is likely to be an expensive mistake in most cases.

If these CD's are commercial CD's and they won't play, your CD player is broken. Best to have it looked at by a professional. Replace if necessary.

Hi Jackie, the blue light that blinks, you're indocating system malfunction
Disconnect all the speakers and check if you continue to do so, if you don't, check the cables and the speaker connection,
Go reconnecting the speakers one by one and try
If it keeps flashing, look for a specialized technical service
I hope you can solve the problem
Greetings Franco Dosil

The Kenwood KDC-355U display will read Protect if the receiver detects a short. Check all of the wiring between the unit and the speakers. If you find a loose wire or a spot where a bare wire is touching part of the car (or another bare wire), secure the wire and use electrical tape to insulate the bare wires as needed.

If these steps don't work, then the short is inside the receiver. The unit will need to be repaired. Kenwood has the documentation for the KDC-355U here: https://www.kenwood.com/cs/ce/index.php?model=KDC-355U&lang=index . The direct link to the manual is http://manual.kenwood.com/files/52d601ce30916.pdf .

I hope this helps.
