Front won't stay down on carpet.

Something is keeping the head from rotating freely. You will have to inspect all the parts closely to determine what is causing it to bind. It may be a part dislocated or have some debris somewhere.

Dyson dc 33 put more dust in the air from around the seals than it sucks up! Is there a repair that works? I cannot seam to get enough pressure against the seals to keep them sealed.

Hi Jo, it's Jack at Dyson. DC33 offers a high level of filtration, and the issue of dirt escaping from around the seals between parts would be very unusual. It's possible your machine has been damaged in some way, or that some parts are not correctly assembled. To help you resolve this we would need to take some additional details, and to talk you through some simple troubleshooting checks when you have your machine easily to hand. If a repair or a replacement part is needed, we'll also be able to confirm whether this is covered under the free Dyson parts and labour guarantee. When convenient, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) 1800 239 766 (AU), or 0800 298 0298 (UK). We'll look forward to speaking with you.

I have a Dyson DC33. The cleaning head will not stay down. As you move the unit, the head will stay at whatever angle it is last pushes into. So, as you pull the vacuum back and then push it forwar

Hi Anthony, it's Jack at Dyson. This sounds very unusual, as the cleaner head should pivot freely in use, allowing the soleplate to remain flat to the floor surface. The cleaner head is designed to adjust automatically to different carpet heights and floor types as you vacuum - this is shown in the video I've attached above. It would be worth washing both filters as shown in our online Support guide: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc33/dc33-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/filter-removal-step-1We recommend using cold water without any detergent, and allowing both filters at least 24 hours to dry completely before replacing them in the machine. In normal use, the filters should be maintained in this way at least once every 3 months. It's also worth checking to make sure the internal hose isn't damaged, and that there are no obstructions in the machine. Our online Support guide should help with this: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc33/dc33-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/how-to-wash-filters/next/next/next/wand-suctionIf you need further help after you've given this a try, I would encourage you to contact us directly so we can provide further assistance - if a repair is needed our experts will be happy to confirm if this is covered under your machine's 5-year guarantee. You can reach us by calling the Dyson customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).We'll look forward to hearing from you.Best wishes,JackDyson Online Customer Supportwww.dyson.com

Brush bar does not turn when unit is turned on, belt is intact and no noticeable defects.

LOts of these units have a switch for brush or you have to pull back on the handle to start brush. Hope this helps Mike

I can't push my Dyson Dc33 on my new carpet..it works backwards ok but not pushing forward?

Hi Fran, it's Jack at Dyson. DC33 is engineered to work effectively on both hard and carpeted flooring. The cleaner head is engineered to adjust automatically for different floor types and carpet piles. You can also turn off the brush bar for hard floors and delicate rugs, using the brush control on the cleaner head. push-dyson-dc33-new-carpet-works-1knn0ucrcyiuamdom311flx5-1-0.jpg I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty pushing your machine forward on this particular type of new carpeting. If your DC33 worked effectively before the new carpeting was fitted, it doesn't sound like there's an issue with the vacuum itself. However, we'd appreciate the opportunity to take some further details about the issue, and may be able to suggest a resolution. You may also want to consider contacting the carpeting manufacturer directly, as they should be able to recommend the best way of caring for this specific carpeting. When you have your DC33 easily to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU). We'll look forward to speaking with you.

Why is my DC33 too hard to push on carpet?

Sounds to me either the belt is broken or the brushes on the brushroll are worn off enough as to not grab the carper as you move it forward.

Brush is not rotating

Hi Barbara, it's Jack at Dyson. DC33's brush bar will only rotate when the vacuum cleaner is turned on and reclined into the normal vacuuming position, and the brush control is set to 'Carpets': brush-not-rotating-m43difmpidfjgfho0k5c5fgh-2-0.jpg If the vacuum cleaner is standing upright, or set to 'hard floors', the brush bar will not rotate. If you're confident the brush control is set correctly, but the brush bar won't rotate when the machine is turned on and reclined, please contact our experts directly so we can talk you through some further troubleshooting checks. If a repair is needed, we can also confirm if this is covered under your Dyson warranty. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Brush bar doesn't fit back in

Hi Ryan, it's Jack at Dyson. DC33's brush bar is not engineered to be removed by the user, and we would recommend using scissors to carefully cut away any hair or threads with the brush bar in place. You can remove the soleplate for easier access: http://www.dyson.com/support/dc33/dc33-multifloor/using-my-dyson-list/flo-dc07-gen-how-to-remove-a-blockage/redirect-to-removing-debris-from-the-brushbar-dc33/removing-debris-from-the-brushbar-dc33 For help replacing the brush bar I would encourage you to contact our experts directly - they may be able to talk you through it.
