Mistakly i changed my netvista bios language from english to some other language. how can i change back in to english?
You will have to locate the 'JBAT1' terminal and move jumper from pins 1-2 to pins 2-3 then back to pins 1-2, to reset bios.

I have an IBM NetVista 6341 B7U. It was supposed to
have Windows 98 installed but when I booted it up no operating system
was found. I assumed the hard drive had been wiped.
After loading Windows XP Home Edition, I got the following error:
PXE53-E53 No bootfile found. The next screen said no operating system
found, F1 to reboot. I thought this meant the PC was trying to
boot from a network server. I looked in setup/config and found no
place to set the boot order! I went to Devices & IO Ports,
Network Setup and disabled Preboot Execution Enviornment Boot
Agent. Now I no longer get the PXE error, it just goes directly
to the 1962 No operating system found screen. I changed it back
to enable Preboot Execution Environment Boot Agent because I was unable
to get internet access using DSL booted from CD when the Preboot
Execution was disabled. The PXE53-E53 error no longer
appears, even though Preboot Execution is now enabled.
I can boot DSL from CD but I can't seem to back up
settings. The system won't recognize USB drives at
all, and won't let me write to a floppy. I'm new to Linux and
assume this is because I don't know how to format a floppy and mount
the drive.
Originally I was going to use this machine to practice setting up a
dual boot environment with Windows/Linux. I need the boot from
the hard drive capability becauseI think my desktop got zapped my
lightening and now it won't power up. I want to swap out the hard
drive and hope it still works.
I know what BIOS is and can't figure out why I can't find the boot
options. I've spent hours and hours googling and haven't found
(or recognized!) a solution.
Install Windows XP and then Ubuntu
Any Linux Using GRUB (preferably) Or LILO will automatically fix all "No Operating System found etc. Problems"

Just recived IBM Netvista 2292-21u refubished mother board.
I keep getting "Error 0193 system security - IBM Embedded Security hardware has been removed". then "Error System Halted". Tried everything
This is what I always get pressing F1 or F12 for start up devices or doing nothing
CPU = Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1,60GHz
639K System RAM Passed
254M Extended RAM Passed
256K Cache SRAM Passed
System BIOS shadowed
Video BIOS shadowed
Mouse initialized

0162: Configuration Error - Default configuration used
After that the system hangs no reaction from keyboard.
The security device plugs into the left front of the MB as viewed from the front. It is approximately 1.5" x 2 inches in size. they sometimes come loose form the socket when a system is moved. Open the case and see if it is there and loose. If completely gone, then you need to contact your MB supplier for either the device, a new board or a factory reprogram of the board to disable the missing device.

How do you open an IBM NetVista computer's front panel?
I can open a side panel of the computer easily but I don't see any obvious way to open up the front panel in order to investigate a
mysterious random automatic power-on-off problem of the computer.
My computer is not connected to any external equipment. I have ruled out any software faults by re-installing the operating system. Now I would like to look around the front-panel power switch to see what is causing this random problem. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Had the same problem. Removing the front panel to get to the hard drive took me quite a while to figure out!
Look at the back of the pc. At the very top (above the connectors) you'll see a blue push. Push it at the same time as pulling the black "handle" (just the plastic - not the metal and plastic) and it releases the bevelled plastic which is gripped so hard otherwise.
This isn't mentioned in any manual or guide. Very odd. There is no need for a flat bladed screw driver at all although it says that in the book. So the front cover rips off top to bottom when the blue button is pressed!
This works on the 8307 and a few other models.

I need ADI9818 Sound Card Driver for my Computer. Where can I download from this? Yogesh Rathore
As far as I remember, this is a driver for a Sony computer. To be on the safe side, go to Sony's webpage (here), select your correct model and download the file from them.
Sorry that I can't be more specific, but you did not mention which computer you are using.
If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

0167 no processor bios update found
bios date 06/04/04
no me deja actualizar a la fecha 06/17/04
Could be that the bios itself is corrupted, You could try reloading that latest bios. Update the BIOS using flash from OS. link: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/thinkcentre_bios/24jy55usa.exe
