There can be a number of reasons for this.
Have you checked that the stylus tip has not broken off? this is a common cause and will require a new stylus.

You will need to measure the belt run distance and buy the belt by type and size. You can find these belts at many online sites, just did my old SVHS player this way.

Look thru the user's guide of codes to program new remote. Not all devices are listed in the guide. You can try other device's codes when programming, if you can't find the code designated for your device. I found emerson and symphonics use the same codes.

cd/rw drive has shifted due to unit being bumped, Tray is binding or blocked. Remove the back panel. Remove 4 screws on the bottom holding cd drive. Now you can push the drive slightly back. On the left side of the drive there is a white nylon cam. Push in with a screwdriver and the tray will open so you can manually remove your cd. You should be able to cycle the tray open and closed now. Replace the four screws but cycle several times after tightening each screw. Replace the back.

So you want to directly record phono output on a cd, without on a dd-player? . The phono pre-amp does not only makes the signal voltage higher, it has a built a built in equalizer which is necassary since the recordplayer has a cutoff low and high frequency part. And besides that is the signal from a needle way too small to work with, so whole the signal get amplified to what we call a line level. And only that signal is strong enough to work with. And if you can record it directly on a cd, depends on which formats your recordplayer understands.

I'll assume the record played like Chipmunks as well? I believe this is a belt driven turntable. The belt is probably riding over the top ridge of the pulley. Get to the area where the belt is accessible. I think you'll see I'm right. If so, just push the belt back down, and revolve the platter, by hand, 3 or 4 times. Once that's done, check the belt to make sure it is still riding in the middle of the pulley.

CD trays are operated by a small rubber belt. In this case it might have come off or snapped. If you need to replace it just measure the diameter in MM (you don't have to be spot on) and put the words "Drive belt XX MM" into Google.

You need to clean the rubber drive wheels in the cassette player with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol until they are clean. It is a good time to also clean the head assembly. Over time though the rubber parts get hardened and must be replaced eventually.
