Rca drc8052nb only says ''hello'' on screen, can anyone help?

RCA DRC 8052NB does nothing but displays "HELLO"

Among the voltages available from the power supply is a 3-volt source. The first capacitor after the diode is a 1000 microfarad, 6.3-volt unit. There were no signs of leakage of overheating, but I changed it anyway. Voila! the unit came to life. Hope this helps.

DVD RECORDER JUST SAY HELLO AND NOTHING ELSE

Possible that the loading is not completing and so does not go into head loading. If the head loads and does not run then it is possible that the optical unit is faulty. Also it is possible that if there is no response to after loading of disc the fault can be failure in the controller processor board or the loading drive. Try and clean the optical unit and see if there is any result.

How do i record with

You have to go to Menu Page select timers and from there you can record your programs to record at any time. If you are watching something you want to record click on REC on remote it should have a little red dot on the button, then it will take you to where you program how long you want to record.

The dvd recorder drc 8052

You are getting this screen display as you switch on and it indicates that the processor starts up but since it does not move forward there are errors in the main board/processor board which give a wrong feedback thereby shutting off the player.
You need to check the power supply to start with and if all these seems OK , the main board is a suspect.

Dvd will not eject. tray will not open.

The DRC8052N / DRC8052NB / DRC8052NC DVD recorder (sorry cab209, not a PC) has had a LOT of problems. So many that RCA doesn't even list it on their site! There was a firmware upgrade that supposedly fixed this, but I'm having trouble finding it on the web.

As to how to remove DVD:
1) Try unplugging the machine and leaving it unplugged for 10 to 15 minutes. then (without plugging it back in) press the power button repeatedly. (I know it sounds goofy but it came from customer support. Theory: to drain all power) Plug it back in and try to eject.
2) Another owner suggested holding down the HDMI button on the remote. The "hello" mesage is an initialization/power-on routine, so my guess would be it was powered off with the disc in it?
3) Unplug it. Remove the cover (two silver screws on each side and three black screws on the back). Slide the cover off (to the rear). Take the four small screws out of the top of the drive (marked LOADER on mine. Lift out the DVD. Reassemble.
While you have it apart..... You might also look at the circuit board next to the drive in the center of the unit. It has a bunch of capacitors (black or blue, cylindrical, w/ X or Y stamped in the end). If any of these are no longer flat on the X or Y end or have yellow 'goo' on or around them, they have failed and are the source of your problem. They can be replaced, but it may be more cost effective to replace the entire unit.

It only says Hello. It will not turn on. It

he heh he , just respond HI,, just kidding! anyway, that is common in a dvd player the problem is the lens or the spendle motor the one holding the CD and spinning it..either of the two..to determine which one, figure out if the cd is spinning after you inserted a disk.If not try to clean first the lens manually use a cotton buds dip in an quick drying alcohol gently wipe it to the lens then try playing again if the CD DO NOT TURN

RCA DRC8052N & RCA DRC8060 Power Capacitors

Hi,
The capacitors are C1260, C1270, and C1271 and don't always any sign of degredation.
Here's a pic of them, in this case obviously degraded.

http://i38.tinypic.com/nehn5e.jpg

They can be subtituted by 1000uF 25V capacitors ( they are 680uF 16V).

On your RCA DRC8060, replace the 3 2200uf capacitors with 10v items.
Make sure you use 105 degree parts, as most of these problems relate to heat stress.
Don't forget to unplug before diving in!
If I've helped, please provide feedback so I can help others.
Regards
Zahc
