SAMSUNG REFRIDGERATOR RB215LASH - Running but not freezing or col

Many issues with this fridge model can cause that symptom.
The sounds of running may just be the fans only and not the compressor. You could remove the rear bottom panel and see if the compressor is running but if it isn't you are still in trouble.

This fridge is processor controlled thus it does have a diagnostic mode....You can force the compressor to turn on by itself, the fan in the fridge, the fan in the freezer etc.
It would take pages here to tell you how to do it....so I will provide you with the link for the service manual PDF. download it and save it....If you later have to have someone come out to service it you may have to offer it to them because they probably will not have it....It's 87 pages and is quite extensive.......

Good luck

Freezer not freezing, moves from 8 degrees to 34

There are 2 thermistors for frost and 2 for temperature....Fridge and freezer compartment have one each.

Access to the thermistor sensors are from the inside of the fridge and freezer. You have to remove the shelves, trays and the inside panels to get at them.
The manual will show you how.
There are diagnostics you can run that will tell you which one is in trouble.
There are sensitive voltages that may be required to measure. So from a tech point of view you may need someone with electronics expertise to do the measurements.
The procedures and various measurements are too lengthy to tell you but I will give you the link to the service manual PDF and you or someone can do the diagnostics...The Manual is 87 pages long. Can you imagine a fridge needing that much documentation.

That said. I have the same fridge and have fought 3 different problems...not fun....

Fridge does not stay cold

Does the compressor ever run? You may have to remove the rear bottom panel to see....

Use this manual to force compressor mode.....

I have had this problem. The control board has a cheap relay that makes the compressor run...The bad part is if your not into electronics you will be in trouble here.

There is a white box that houses the control board....
Unplug the fridge remove the cover....plug in the fridge wait for the fans to start and tap the white box with a screwdriver...you may here the compressor (black round 5X8 cyl..)..

Can not locate the water line connector on the fridge.

It would appear that the water line can be located on the bottom right side of the fridge, on the back, while viewed from the back. It should be a plastic line. Here is a link to the owners manual, you can find the instructions on page 14. Hope this helps.
