MY FRIDGE CUTS OUT WHEN THE POWER FAILS EVEN IF

other than running your fridge on its own power source or fitting a gas operated fridge,(bottled gas) you must leave it empty, with the door open.....our friends in Canada have gas for heating and fridge /freezer and a generator, so they dont suffer any power cuts in winter.

Refrigerator does not keep food cool, and tends to

Possible that the vent is blocked into the fridge due to many reasons, it can be the failure of the fan to blow through the vent, the failure of the defrosting coil or the defrosting timer /system with the heater.
Shut off fridge for 6 hours and check if cooling returns, if so the defrost section must be checked.

Fridge temp set to 38 is blinking,,reset unit

I had a similar problem, paid a technician $90 to tell me to defrost the entire unit for 15-20 hours, and now it works like new. It is supposed to self defrost, but with poor circulation in the freezer (simply caused by too much stuff in there) the unit frosts up. This caused a rising temp in the freezer leading to inconsistent temps.

Anyone reading this with a similar issue, save your money and defrost it overnight. You should see a pool of water in the bottom of the freezer after defrost if this was the problem.

Ice maker quit working

I know this sounds a bit droll, but you say without explanation, do you expect it to talk to you. You will probably find that the timer has packed up. check this out and replace if neccessary.

The freezer and icemaker work fine and hold - 4

Hi,

Thanks for writing to Fixya.com.

Well I donot think it’s the thermosensor. As you have described the most common fridge "not cooling uniformly at various temperature settings " problem is a frost free failure. Remove the access panel in the freezer section to expose the evaporator coils. If the coils in the freezer section get plugged up with frost, this frost will block the evaporator fan motor from blowing the cold air around. The fan blade can also hit this frost and either become noisy or stop altogether. Locating the defrost timer can be tricky....they are often hidden behind the back bottom corners of the fridge at the bottom, in the last few years the timers have been located in the ceiling of the fresh food section, and some behind the cold control cover. Once you locate the defrost timer, slowly turn the screw like wheel in the middle of the defrost timer with a straight screwdriver until the fridge shuts off. You are now in defrost. If the defrost heater(s) comes on now, replace the defrost timer and defrost thermostat. If the heater(s) does not come on, you can ohm test the defrost heater for continuity or volt test for 120 volts to the heater(s). If you have no power to the defrost heater(s) you can also bypass the defrost thermostat to see if the defrost heater will come on, join the 2 wires together to bypass the defrost thermostat. If the heater now comes on, replace the defrost timer and defrost thermostat. If the heater itself is bad, defrost the fridge with a hair dryer, replace the defrost heater* and defrost thermostat. If the defrost timer seems "hot" to the touch or is noisy ( like a ticking or screeching noise ) I would recommend to replace it.
To support my logic please check the article bellow:

HOW DO I SET THE TEMP ON MY REF

Adjust the refrigerator and freezer temperatures with the temperature controls, usually located on the inside of the refrigerated section, some models have the temperature controls on the outside of the doors, accessible when the doors are closed.

Samsung ice maker tray won't reset

I had the same problem and would "temporarily" fix it by opening the front plastic cover (remove the 4 screws) and CAREFULLY remove the front - sometimes all the plastic gears will fly off but you can get them back because they only fit one way. Once the gears are off, you can reset the tray back to its fill position. Fit the gears back into place. Replace the front cover and it worked like a champ for a couple of weeks when I'd have to do it all over again. I finally got tired of it and ordered a new unit through ebay. Easy to replace BUT now the water won't come on to fill the tray!!!! UGH Hope this helps

Keeps beeping and losing cooling

It is very possible and common for the air vent to get ice build-up. The vent that goes from freezer to fridge is connected to one another. It gets ice build up and doesn't allow enough cool air to go into the fridge compartment. Then the temp alarm goes off.

Refridgerator and Freezer Not Cooling (2 year old fridge)

Some of these had problems with the door light switches between the doors. They also control the fans. The top and bottom both have fans in back. Try opening top door and holding door light switch in. Wait for a couple minutes to see if fan comes on. Try with freezer too. If not coming on may need switch.

Refrigerator cools freezer wont model rb215labp

I know that model very well and I would like to know how long you have owned it and will you or can you find someone that can perform some electrical test fo you. When Samsung made that brand they made a major mistake on the defrost heater elements. They were woven into the evaporator coil. If less that 5 years old it should fall under sealed parts warranty. When I look at a refrigerator from here there are so many possibilities of what is going on that I ask that this is not where to rate my solution. I see that you mentioned the digital controls but are they visible or gone whacked out? Sea Breeze
