You have to go to the configuration of your router. You will need to find out the ip address of your router. This can be done by going to command prompt, (win xp - start, run, cmd, enter)(win 7 - start cmd in search bar, enter) now type ipconfig into the command prompt and hit enter. The default gateway should be your router. Then you need to know your password. Then navigate to wireless settings and find security and in there should be password settings.

Back on the router find a samll hole and with a toothpick press gently for 30 seconds and allow the router to power up, the begin a new router configuration.

The short answer is no you really cant use multiple modems. The internet should come in to your home via the modem, then go in to a ROUTER. Many times the router will have 3 to 5 ports on the back to hook your other computers too. This means running cables. Another way is to use WIRELESS cards that you can find on the net or from best buy.

If your router does not have any extra ports you need to buy something called and ethernet switch. Again they come in 4 and 8 port models up to LOTS AND LOTS Of ports for big companies. You hook the switch in to the router, then hook the computers in to the switch.

First connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then you can access it with following link.

If you are not able to access t with above link then check your computer ip address gateway ip is your router's ip.
Then you can access it with that gateway ip.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Cleck on NAT then you can see port forwarding .
Select port as you like http use 80 port open it if you want to open tcp and udp .Then save and restart router.

u can fix this with installing a access point or a signal booster. i recomend a dwl 2200 ap with a poe. I had the same problem, i was not getting signal on the second floor and i installed a access point and things work.

This can be done -- I've done it to my Arris modem router interface from Suddenlink.Make sure you have your original modem/router login info (typically this is something like admin/admin, or admin/password). my guess is you forgot your ISP owns it no country stated, no ISP stated nor your purpose here. no model told, ARRIS. box. plug it in call ISP speak done. (only they do that, not you, you must ask them) I own my own modem but must call them to even replace my box. they configure it and is locked to ONE SERIAL NUMBER JUST LIKE CELL PHONES ARE.

DNS, 1.1.1.1 there vast other DNS, but you didnt tell yours and DNS can have HUGE parental blocks. to all evil sites so in the surfboard settings set DNS top 1.1.1.1 to wide open generic, 8.8.8.8. learn to access your router, RTM read the manual see its IP and go there and set the DNS to any you like. i like 1.1.1.1.
