This could be anything from a faulty water valve , machine not draining , faulty electronic board , faulty timer unit ...For the machine to continue it must complete its last cycle . Any fault codes showing ?, was it filling , was it draining properly ??, please contact your registered whiteware technician for proper fault diagnosys , cheers .

If its a top loader, most machine s have a dispenser on the top panel or somewhere in the top of the splash guard of the tub. On a front loader.... I have never seen a bleach dispenser on any of them.

Not the lid it will be the lid switch faulty. It thinks the lid is open even though it isn't. Replace the lid switch.

It sounds like you may have a rinse hold function active. Check the manufacturers FAQ section and instruction manual for troubleshooting tips and how to disable rinse hold.
