Protect
You have to reset your system... Use a pen to push a small button that's located in the front of the face plate. That will reset the system...If it gets stuck on standby, just push the SRC button on the face plate or on the remote..

No sound
Check your AUX to make sure it is not in the ON1 or ON2 mode. It should be selected to OFF. You may have to remove the faceplate and press the reset button on the back of the face plate. (See page 3 of the user manual) If you use a CD as the music source, the source is supposed to be automatically selected by the unit. If it does not do that... return the unit.
Also check the lower left corner of the face plate to make sure ATT is not ON.
Also check to make sure initially Sub-W Set is selected OFF
There is a note on page 19 of the user's manual about making sure the wire does not come out from the tab onthe back of the uint. One of them is the MUTE wire.
If you do NOT have a user's manual you can download it here:

SYSTEM IN PROTECT MODE - HOW DO I RESET RADIO?
first, make sure you don't have any shorted speaker wires or bad speakers. to reset it there is usually a pencil tip sized hole on the face with a switch behind it. it is not marked. you can also reset it by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. if this doesn't work, you may have a bad output ic.

My system just stop working and its only blinking ocer
OCER indicates that the unitis in protect mode. First press the reset button (tiny pinhole button). If the unit comes back on saying OCER then most likely there is a short or a grounding problem with the speakers or speaker wiring. Disconnect all speakers and press reset again. If OCER still shows up the unit needs service. If not, connect each speaker once at a time until the unit comes back in OCER to narrow down the location of the unwanted DC signal.

How to change the fuse on a kdc-mp2035
Hi.
You need to pull the unit out from the dash. At the back side of the stereo you will find a 10-amp fuse inserted into the chassis of your Kenwood.
See the red 10 amps fuse on picture below:

My car battery died and all of as sudden I can't
Try to open the panel (front) while the power is turned on..look for the tiny hole marked (sometimes) with reset and try to push with a pen to click. Reattached the front panel control and try to check if all the function has gone back.good luck!

Kenwood KDC-MP235 shows PROTECT on
check the inline fuse from the ignition, if this has blown then it will go into protect mode to save it from surging and blowing up the radio, it would still light up as it has a main live seperate.
Also check wiring to the back and ensure none are touching
Regards
Dan

Cd player is not working
The unit is telling you it's shut off output because of some problem. There night be something wrong with one of your speakers or the wiring. A speaker may have shorted or a wire may be contacting a sharp edge somewhere and shorting to the car frame. This could also be due to a problem in the amplifier itself. Try unplugging the speaker wiring from the unit and see if it clears up. If so you can start isolating which speaker or wire run is bad. If the unit is still in protect without the load, you'll need to have it serviced.
