The reversing valve could be no good

Hi,
There can be a couple of things that could be happening...
The first and easiest thing is to check the air filter. Make sure that it is clean... clean it or replace it. Next check the air vents to make sure that they are open and giving you good air flow...
Also check to make sure that you are not icing up on the indoor coil... ice will tell you that you are low on refrigerant. You also could be low and not be icing over, but you would need to have gauges on the unit to check that.
Finally check and clean the outdoor coil...this also can give you problems if the heat is not being removed from the outdoor unit efficiently...
You may also have a unit that is sized in such a way that it hits the balance point at about 85...that means that your heat gain is equal to the capacity of the unit...I often try to size them for about that here in Northern PA. because wqhen seldom get hotter then that and the unit then is much more effective at removeing humidity at lower temperatures...

pressure switch stuck take off hose **** on it then put back on

Chec to see if the fan has a capacitor on it.If it doesn't the fan motor is probably bad.I change both all the time for other people.Hopefully it is a capacitor it is alot cheaper.

I may have on is some older amana lidterature. But will need the MFG number to look it up.

check your wiring on your t-stat maybe yellow and red touching, how old this house

It sounds like the thermostat bulb has moved or the unit is getting an immediate air recirculation due to a partial blockage or air diversion close to the unit causing the warm air to get back to the thermostat bulb too soon, heating only a very small area.

Does the power light come on? If yes, then you can do a reset as below: There is a master switch on the bottom left of the control board. Slide that to 'off' position. Then press the hot and cold switch/key together and then slide the master switch back to 'on'. Please put your response/observation here if that does not work or there is power light as asked on top. i'm not familiar with your specific unit but ..sounds like an electronic gas value has gone bad or has a bad connection when that happened to my friend it wasn't that expensive to have it fixed .. BYW it acted like this for a while then stopped working completely
