Try using the password 136900. If this works for you, then using your remote, access the general setup menu and choose the Disc Unlock option.

Hi its look that you need to clean the laser lens
manualy open the cover press eject unplug the dvd leave the door open and with a qtips and alcool wipe gently the lens
and its done put the cover back and try it its should works
and make shure that you have a clean disk before try to play it

Firstly if there is a dvd stuck inside the machine and it won't eject then try the following: Turn off the power at the plug socket and remove the plug then look on the underside of the machine. On some Philips dvd players there is a plain white label below where the dvd tray sits under this label is a slot which gains you access to the manual release. If there is a label and slot gently pierce the label using a small screwdriver and push the screwdriver gently in until it stops then move it from right to left. This action moves a lug sited under the drive unit, this lug is the manual release for the tray. You will then see the tray open and will be able to remove the disc, moving the lug back will close the tray.
But this problem on Philips dvd players and recorders is a fault with the dvd drive and is common on some Philips machines. The only way to cure it is to replace the dvd drive unit itself, the one positive is that Philips used their standard IDE or SATA internal dvd drives, the same as in desk top computers. However a replacement drive would have to be comparable to the exisisting unit to avoid further complications. Please take note as a safety warning this is a technical solution involving the opening of the machine exposing potentially live electrical parts and should only be under taken by a trained technician.
